Eyedropper tool not detecting gradient angle
Recreating the issue:
- Make a gradient color1 -> color2
- Turn gradient around with 180 degrees color2 <- color1
- Apply the gradient to a new object through eyedropper tool
- It will show the gradient without angle change (color1 -> color2)

Return feature constraint proportion while holding shift;
I often wish Adobe employes used Illustrator themselves. I'd like them to experience having their preferences reset to default with even minor upgrades, spending an hour adjusting the shortcut keys to work like a mac, and now that I've had a chance to vent a little, the latest offense:
The ability to proportionally scale objects by holding shift while dragging is ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL to my workflow mixing photos and raster art into an illustration to the point I'm using Sketch more and more while wondering how this bug got out and I hope a fix is on the way soon.

Zoom in/out bug
When holding down the magnifying glass shortcut and moving the mouse left/right to do a smooth zoom, it no longer behaves as before the recent update. It lags and makes the graphics super blurry. What did you guys change??

It is an intentional change to speed up zoom pan operation. Earlier we were rendering full fidelity at every frame – this was slowing down or wasting GPU power. So what happens after this change is we render full fidelity on mouse release.
The amount of blur depends on the amount of zoom. If you zoom too far the onscreen representation will be more blurry. I hope this answers.— Ashutosh

new .eps clipart will not open in Illustrator 7.0
Mac os 8.6 (still us it as my main vector creation program to create airbrush masks on plotter) and Illustrator 7.0.
I bought this alleged vector (eps) file of an anchor from some clipart etsy shop and got the canned "garbled, etc" message when attempting to open in illustrator 7.0. this has happened before. Have tried to place and all other possibilities. If anyone can open and confirm this is a real vector file, then save it for a version of illustrator my 7.0 can read, I'd really appreciate it.

Google Drive File Stream is corrupting AI CC 2019 files
To reproduce the issue…
- Open an AI file on my Google Drive Stream.
- Save the file
- Try to reopen file. Error message appears. "The file logo.ai is in an unknown format and cannot be opened"

can't open files with cloud & arrow symbol
I use MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6, I've recently noticed that when I try to open up older files (couple of years old) I get a cloud with a downwards facing arrow. I am unable to open these files though I can preview them. any ideas how I can open them please, thanks
1 voteThe downward cloud icon that you are referring to is a state when the file is present on the cloud but not present on your hard drive. Please download the file to your computer to access it.

gradient
I found a bug in the new Update CC 2019, specifically with the new freeform gradient tool.
when the gradient point is on the edge and you shrink the corner radius, making the gradient point out of the bounding box it removes the point completely and removes major part of the gradient.
attached a sample I made showcasing the problem.
1 voteThe Freeform gradient color stop which fall outside the Art boundary while editing the shape of Art or while creating Color Stop or drag a already existing Color Stop outside Art Boundary gets deleted.
At present it is working as designed ,Kindly log feature request if something else is expected. -
Illustrator does not work with iCloud Drive enabled in Mojave OS X 10.14
Since upgrading to Mojave OS X 10.14, Illustrator does not work with iCloud Drive enabled. Will not open or save files.

Ctrl+D
- My OS is win7 Professional service pack 1
- When i want to Duplicate a shape he short cut Ctrl+D won't apply, when they do work they undo which is not what i want.
- I was expecting the function to duplicate the shape, but it didn't.
- it either it undo or just won't do anything
1 voteCtrl + D in Illustrator does not duplicate. There is no such a command, unfortunately. Instead this hotkey does another useful operation by default, it repeats the last applied transformation again — like if you move something to the right, you can move it (or any other shape) again, with the same distance.
However, I agree that Duplicate command is something Ai might benefit from. Hitting Ctrl+C, Ctrl+F is still twice longer than one hotkey, and is nowhere instant, So please vote here for having it:

Illustrator Crashes when editing graphs
Illustrator CC 2018 v22.1 - I've created a number of different bar graphs. When I click on one to edit the graph "Type...", it crashes each and every time. What's going on? I can still edit and update the data without it crashing. I tried clearing/deleting my preferences but that didn't change anything.

Anyways I kind of remedied the situation myself by re-drawing the graph that was causing the crashing from scratch. It seems to have stopped the crashing from happening and I’m now able to edit they graph type without problem.

Mysterious Points moving
I have the latest version of Adobe Illustrator. I've lately been creating a character and I was putting the layer on hidden and a thing appeared. It was like I used the direct selection tool and dragged a point across my screen. It happens about every 6-7 times I hit the button and it also happens on a different layer on a different part of the body.

CS 3 begins launching, but never posts menu bar in High Sierra
Having gone through the download process on the assumption that the license was the problem, I find that the newly installed AI CS3 still has the symptom it had before. That is it seems to start, but never displays the menu bar. I can also start it by double-clicking a .ai file. The graphic displays, but no menu bar or other windows.

Creative Cloud has potential ports leak (Activity Monitor)
When starting Creative Cloud, and Viewing Activity Monitor in macOS the ports show an normal average number around 600. Yet the Creative Cloud ports don't stop there every 15 seconds they increase by 1-3 on avg. I have had them reach 10,000 and that when it starts causing problems with my MacBook performance. if I let it would just keep climbing endlessly. this need to be addressed asap.

No touch workspace
In Illustrator CC 2015 (and 2017 & 2018) the Touch Workspace is missing.
The graphic tablet works correctly (pressure, dynamics) but the Touch Workspace is missing.
All the relevant tips I've found in Internet was followed, with no result.
There's a manual way to enable the touch workspace.Ironically, the touch workspace was present in Illustrator BEFORE I bought the graphic tablet.
System:
Mac Mini late 2012, using Boot Camp, Windows 10 (latest), 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD Evo850

Creating an L*a*b* swatch does not maintain L*a*b* values.

Color picker scrolling
Color picker scrolling bug.
1. Verson 22.0.1
2. Open color picker, select channel (S/H/B/R/G/B), scroll up/down using mouse wheel.
3. The values should change by mouse wheel.
4. The R/G/B channels are fine. In Hue, scrolling up is MUCH slower (insensitive) than scrolling down. In Saturation/brightness, most time I can't scroll up. Rarely I can do a 1% scrolling up. Scrolling down is fine.1 voteI am closing the ticket due to lack of response.

Cannot rename new or old folders in save dialogue
Used to be able to create a folder inside the save dialogue with a specific name. Not anymore. And i cannot change a folders name either. I am running a PC.
- Version Illustrator CC latest build 22.0.1
- Save as -> Create folder->New folder
- Ability to name folders.
- Folder says New folder and stays like that.

Unecessary trapping bug
Whenever I send that was made in CC2018 to our Rip there is trapping added to it. This has never happened for the many years I have been using illustrator. This art is butt up without any stroke and should not trap at all. I thought it was our rip software but I tried a different brand rip at another shop and the problem remains. The problem disappears when I disable overprint but I need to use that for base plates and die lines. I am on Illustrator CC 22.0.0
1 voteTrapping can happen if there are two objects with just fill color and if they overlap each other with overprint attribute set then the end result is trapping. The objects in the file you provided overlaps each other to the tune of 0.2 pt with the top object having overprint attribute set.
