Image Trace Preview doesn't work
Image Trace window lets you adjust advanced preferences (color county, angle threshold etc.) When I tick the "preview" box, then image traces according to my selected preferences. But after un-ticking the box it does not return to a normal rasterized image.

Preview checkboxes in Illustrator work as Apply buttons, and unchecking it in this panel won’t force the image to fall back to the original untraced image.
Same behavior is true for effects, for example.
Make a simple test:
1. Draw a rectangle, give it some fill or stroke
2. Apply Offset Path effect to it
3. Type a value, make sure Preview is ticked
4. Now untick the Preview and notice Ai won’t remove the already drawn offset. What it does is just stop immediately applying the value. This is what Preview checkboxes do.However, I understand the problem. That’s why the panel has an 'eye' button next to View dropdown. If you click and hold it, Ai reverts the traced image to the original source image, so you can compare.
