recent mojave update 10.14.3 causing odd illustrator behavior?
1) osx 10.14.3
2) basic illustrator usage
3) ""
4) basic commands not being fulfilled, eventual crash
recently illustrator has stopped functioning correctly for me. i realized that within the last week i upgraded from mojave 10.14.2 to 10.14.3 and that illustrator has been malfunctioning for me around the same time as i updated. i've tried trashing prefs, uninstalling illustrator and reinstalling and then trashing prefs again after still not working, uninstalling entire adobe creative cloud and reinstalling, it still won't work. some of the odd behavior is reminiscent of issues pertaining to gpu ive read on the forums so perhaps the system update has affected it somehow? odd behavior includes: layers panel seems to be completely broken, unable to target layers, layers dont update to show newly drawn objects. selection tool behaving irregularly, selection box remains visible on screen after dragging and releasing. illustrator stops working completely, ignores commands and sometimes crashes after being in a file for over 10 minutes. and more, i can't type them all and many are hard to describe, but i've taken some screen shots that document some of this odd behavior
screen shot captions:
1)broken menu in layer panel:
2)weirdness when moving objects with direct select tool:
3)selection tool remaining after dragging and releasing the mouse (accidentally didn't include the mouse pointer when taking screenshot)
4)general chaos, layers panel not showing the two separate text objects, gradient onboarding box not dismissable or loaded correctly

I feel ur frustrations buddy. Without the help of Adobe, I was able to solve this issue for me by booting my MacBook into safe mode and then running illustrator. It ran correctly in safe mode, so I booted back into normal state and illustrator continued to function correctly.
U can boot into safe mode by restarting ur Mac and immediately holding shift until the login screen appears (this can take a long time sometimes, I held my shift key for 20 minutes before my login screen appeared, haha)

I feel like we are somehow in the same dimension, which is a very STRANGE one, and my Illustrator issues are different but the same. Since updating to Mojave 10 point whatever, All Adobe products have turned to ****. I can't get any help from Adobe and I blame them for not having better relationships with Apple on all these changes that come with the updates and GPU performance.
I am so frustrated at this point and feel like looking for other software that keeps up with the Macbook Pro. I really think it's a huge conspiracy to get us to upgrade to new machines. I'm on a lat 2016 MBP w/Touch Bar that I bought in 2017. Nightmare since this Mojave business. Have you fixed your issues yet?
The battery on this machine drains much faster as well since this "upgrade." So much fun.
