Pasting a text makes it loose its formatting
mac OS 10.14.3 running AI 23.0.2
The issue seems to be random and can't replicate every time.
If I copy a group formed by a path and text sometimes, when pasting, the path is expanded (?) and the text loses its format.
When pasting "in Front" or "in Back" sometimes works but ussually pastes in the left upper corner of the artboard.
When pasting a text in any possible way (in Front, in Back, in Place ... ) all format is missing.
The result is a little task consuming double or more time as the expected, delaying my performance and productivity. Plus the frustration that comes with it.

Cristoffer, were you able to resolve this issue?

Cristoffer, if this still happens for you, can you please check if you have Include SVG Code option enabled in Preferences > Clipboard handling. Does it help to toggle it?
Also — do you have any clipboard managers installed and enabled? -

Copy / paste not working - breaks text formatting and usually drops any vector content as well. This happens whether the copy/paste is within one Illustrator file or between two. VERY frustrating. I've found that I can occasionally get it to work by copying and pasting within the same document (everything must be grouped as one), and if it is successful, quickly copy the pasted version and then it might paste into the other Illustrator file.
Solution from support was to downgrade from 24.4 to 24.01. This seems to have done the trick - but now I can't allow CC to update Illustrator.

I tried to go back to the previous working version, 2017, and now I understand other complaints I've seen. When pasting, sometimes instead of pasting what I've copied, it pastes the text that describes the copied content, like opening an SVG with a text editor.
Any ideas?
