Blends with 3D objects do not retain rotation values when expanded
When creating blends with 3D objects, Illustrator does a decent job of calculating the rotation within 3D space. However, when the blend is expanded, rotation values are not retained. Trying to edit the effect resets the values to that of the base objects used to create the blend.

Cliff, do you expand the blend first, or just hit Object > Expand Appearance?
There is the difference! If you expand appearance first — then Ai tries to blend two groups basically, which know nothing about each other.
If you expand blend first — then you get several 3D objects with custom rotations, which you can now apply Expand Appearance to.
Does it work for you?
