Dashes not reproduced properly on paste from Excel
Copying any chart from Excel to Illustrator, where the chart contains a dashed line does not respect dash spacing set in Excel, and always imports with fixed (and rather nonsensical) 1000px dash spacing (so typically no dashes are seen except the first one in almost any artwork).
This has been happening for a while, 1-2 years for sure, so it's not a new bug. It persists across Illustrator and Excel versions.
1) make a chart in excel
2) add dashes to the line
3) copy and paste into illustrator
Expected:
Dashes as they look in excel
Actual:
Dashes are always set with a gap of 1000px
Current software versions:
Windows 10
Office 365 ProPlus Excel Version 1904
Illustrator 23.0.6 (64 bit)

It’s more than dashes for me! When pasted from an Excel chart, a single line of type is often broken at the point of an en-dash. So “1967–2021’ is almost always broken into three parts, 1967, –, and 2021. If you resize the type, it overlaps.
Other issues: Calibri pastes as gibberish. Letterspacing is often uneven, so I have to respecify it as “0.”
This is with Illustrator 26.0.2 running on an M1 Mac with OS 12.0.1. But it’s been this way for many versions.
