Eyedropper STILL not wroking on grouped objects in Illustrator 24.2.3
When using the eyedropper on grouped objects, it'll show correctly in the color panel, but it'll only apply the stoke color to the group. Please fix this! The eye dropper has not worked for grouped objects for way too long now.

I'm having the same exact problem, on Mac Sonoma 14.1.2, Illustrator 28.0.

Derek, I believe that you are wrong. Please check the GIF attached.
The result you had in your picture is exactly what two ticked Appearance options do for the Eyedropper tool.See, the fills of children in a group come over the common fill you pick from the green rectangle. It is correct, when you know what you are doing. You can move items in a stack to change it after, but I suggest you do check tool’s options, untick both Appearance (if they are ticked) and try again.
If it is me who is wrong, and you find your options unchanged for real — please, record it and share here, I’ll try to help. -
Derek, what are your settings for the Eyedropper tool? Pick the tool and hit Enter to open them.
There’s a difference between copying/pasting attributes and the whole appearance.
I believe you have two top checkmarks set, right? Also, please take a look at the Apperance panel you have opened.
The green fill is there, but is under the 'contents' — which are your blue and orange fills. Of course you don’t see the green, these two are over it :)Appearance is a very powerful tool, but it requires some attention.
Please message back if you figure this out.
