Adobe Illustrator 2021 on Big Sur seems to have MANY bugs, one of them is when a vector is selected, its doesn't detect the colour.

Note Purple but brow odd shape is selected.

    Just asking: are you sure that this shape has only one fill and it is it that is selected now? Open Appearance panel, please, and check. I know that certain Eyedropper options can lead to assigning several fills when you are not expecting that (which is not a bug), so please do.
