Color Guide not working

I'm working on a project and when i try to use the color guide to copy a color it doesn't let me put the color in.

    Strange, does work for me.
    Can you please record a short video of you trying?
    Please include Fill/Stroke indicator, the object that refuses to have the color, Color Guide and Appearance panels in view.
