Illustrator does not omit spaces in values in inputs, unlike in InDesign

Unlike in InDesign, where we can accidentally make this:
'21 |mm' → '21 0|mm' and get '210 mm' as a result, in Illustrator it goes liek this instead:
'21 |mm' → '21 0|mm' → '21 mm'
It just doesn’t understand what an aiming mistake is. Makes little sense, since it can’t be anything but that, so no punishment, please.
