"Select a File Format to open file"
Multiple Illustrator files with vector polygons and linework from ArcGIS Pro are no longer opening properly and are instead prompting: "Select a File Format to open file" with "Text" or "ArcGIS - Adobe Illustrator" as options. Selecting either option opens an empty, blank file. How can I continue editing the original Illustrator files?

Oh! I checked the actual file’s contents — it’s just empty, that is full of nulls. No wonder it fails to load! How did you get or produce it?

When I try to open the file, using the latest Beta 28.4.0.32, I get a different dialog, Text Import Option!
It means Ai can’t detect it as a valid Illustrator format, and treats it as a text file...It means that either this particular file is corrupted, or something’s got broken within Ai import option, or on the contrary, ArcGIS broke something in their export mechanism...
But when I try to open the file with Ai CS6, or something less old, like CC 2018, it does not open as well, same dialog is shown... So I assume it’s a problem with the file or ArcGIS, rather than Ai! Have you contacted ArcGIS already?
