Launching Ai without the application frame places the document window behind the tool panel
When I startup Illustrator without the application frame it often misplaces my document so it's tucked behind the tools panel — sometime it is where it is supposed to be.
Mac OS 10.12.6, AI 23.0.1

Layer mask is different from clipping mask, therefore it's clearly not logical for layer panel to release clipping masks. It makes huge mess in a complex document.
