Text Overflow / Overset (+) Indicators are not shown
A strange thing is happening with a few of my files. Some text boxes have stopped showing the indicator when clicking off of the text box which has text overflow. This recently cause me to mistakenly print a file that had text overflowing with no indication. Why is this happening?

No plugins were used.

@Felicia, the team wants to know one thing: these texts, all in the shared HTH_LAYOUT_28x60.ai document, — did you use any plugins for making or dealing with these?

It's worth mentioning at this time that after updating Illustrator this morning on my other machine I now see the same issue.

It is not all files, however, the files that it doesn't show up on are the same files I can open on my other computer and have work perfectly.
It looks as though making the textbox significantly smaller or the font significantly bigger does trigger it to work sometimes. However, it's not showing with 4+ letters cut off as it is.
I've tested the other options you noted including fonts, CPU/GPU Preview, and Show/Hide Text Threads and none make a difference.

Felicia, does it behave differently if you disable GPU preview? Do you see the marker on CPU preview?
Does it happen in all document, including new ones? With all fonts, or only some? With all area sizes, or only small/large?
Does it differ if you toggle View > Show/Hide Text Threads? -

Newly installed, up to date Illustrator CC on Windows 11.
Area type text is not showing the [+] to indicate text overflow unless text box is already selected.

Bez, can you share this file with the team, please?
Send it over to sharewithai@adobe.com and mention the link to this report (http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/49766090) and your full specs, both OS and Ai.
