Doesn’t happen when I try to reproduce it on my Windows 10/11 machine with old files.
Perhaps something else differs. Locale maybe? Can you please share one of these file here to test? -

Oh, I see! Does it happen for one specific file only, or can you reproduce this with a newly created document?
Is the file saved as an .ai document, or is it a .pdf, with Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities option enabled?
