  1. Screen goes white as soon as I draw something

    As soon as I open an Illustrator document and draw or touch an object, the screen goes white. I switch between gpu and cpu rendering, nothing changes.

    M1 MBP, newest os and illustrator version, not the beta or pre version, rosetta 2 mode.

    The team is aware of a similar looking issue, where this is due to Anchor Point Size preference set to Max value. Please check if changing it from Max to any other value resolves this and comment back.

    The investigation continues to get the root cause of this preference corruption.

  2. Duplicating an Artboard with art on it and then Undoing it, causes crash

    if you drag and artboard with art on it while holding option to duplicate, it duplicates fine, but if you Undo, the duplicated artboard remains and you can't delete. sometimes if you try and select the artboard illustrator will crash. the only way to update is to reopen the affected file.

  3. AI displays the START SCREEN on opening the file and the document view do not switches (refreshes) the file content.

    We have created this thread to investigate . If you are encountering the below mentioned issues with latest Version (24.0.1 on Mac and Win), then please vote on this User voice thread and provide Test File via File->Package, Video and steps via dropping email at sharewithai@adobe.com along with this thread link so that we can identify and fix the root cause.

    1. On opening a file in Illustrator the START SCREEN do not gets dismissed and the file’s content is not visible.

    illustrator 24.0.1 で発生し、illustrator 23.1.1 では発生しません。

  5. Stroke stays black even when changing colour

    Stroke stays black even when colour is changed. Only way to make it another colour is to expand appearance, which means losing original unless saved off the artboard

  7. Gradient issues: annotator jumps and changes direction on object hover

    2 problems in CC2020 on Mac OSX 10.15.1:

  8. Character Panel Typing Font Names Manually Issue

    When trying to type certain font names manually in the first field the placement of the letters jumps to the wrong spot.

    When I type "Arial Bold", "Arial Regular", or "Cooper Black" the cursor or text placement seems to fail and not type the text in order from left to right. I saw one other post here with a similar issue but it could not be reproduced. This is the first time I have seen this so far on the new Illustrator CC 2020.   9. Type objects duplicated on top and converted to outlines

    Sometimes when opening up a file, type objects are copied and placed exactly above the original type object, and converted to outlines. There are sometimes anywhere from 1 to 3 duplicated objects. It usually affects every type object in the document. The same issue has been affecting my colleagues' computers, and we often work off of the same documents and share them with each other.

    We all have 15" MacBook Pros, using either Illustrator version 2018 or 2019, on Mojave.

    Does this problem happen with the latest Illustrator build?

    If it does — please provide additional information:

    1. What is the format of the document used, .ai or .pdf?

    2. Does it happen with all the the type objects in a document, or only for some specific fonts, or point / area type only?

    3. Do these have any effects or custom appearance applied?

    If you have a chance to create a test file with this issue reproducible — please share it in the comments.

  10. Unable to save Illustrator file as SVG using artboards

    We use Illustrator to draw lots of icons.
    If we place each icon on an artboard and try to save each artboard to a file by selecting Save as > SVG > Use artboards > All, we expect multiple icons to be saved to multiple SVG files.

    We actually get multiple SVG files, but each SVG contains all layer names from the original file and one SVG icon.

    It would be very helpful, if manual cleanup after saving / exporting wasn't necessary.

  11. JPG Import bug CC 2019

    macOS 10.13.6
    Ai 23.0

    Try to open or place a .jpg or .jpeg file
    -> Error-Message "File could not be read because there was an error"

    Does work with other images. I attached the original image.

    (After running the image through imageOptim the import works)

  12. Currently selected artboard not automatically highlighted as per normal

    Running Mac 10.13.6 and AI 22.1

    In all previous versions of Illustrator the artboard you are currently on remains highlighted so you know which on you are on.

    In this version, the artboard is only highlighted while working in it. If I click into a menu item (say 'Object') then the highlighted artboard disappears and I no longer know which one I am on. Clicking on the blank artboard, which usually highlights that clicked on artboard, doesn't work. The only work around is to click onto another artboard and then back to the first.   15. Artifacts that shouldn't be there

    I've noticed that sometimes there will remain some random artefacts of after deleting anchors that are ordered in lines or curves around each other.
    It will remain there, can't be selected, and even if the rest of the original form is removed, it still remain.
    It is not shown after rendering the image though.
    It occurs sometimes, and could be disturbing.

  16. cant copy text from illustrator and paste to indesign

    When I attempt to copy selected text characters (not the object) and paste in Indesign, I get outlined characters. I have to go through TextEdit, or any other place I can paste text, then copy it again to get text that will paste in Indesign as characters.

    The latest version of Illustrator and InDesign have better handling of the buffer contents now. A selection of text at character level from Illustrator now gets copied and pasted fine in Indesign.

  17. Layer Panel is blank & not representing any layer panel icons or titles

    Layer Panel went blank randomly in a multi-layered project. Cannot view titles or any icons. Sometimes running the mouse over layer panel reveals the information that the mouse points at, however, only to disappear (title info, icons etc) if you click on layer.

    Latest version of Illustrator CC 2018. Have rebooted system twice, one shutdown for several hours, one restart. Also researching online to find similar issues. Seems to be relatively new issue.

    Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. Can you please check layer options dialog?
    From panel flyout open Layer Options and see if the thumnails for “Layers” “Groups” and “Objects” are selected and “Top Layer Only” is Not selected.

    Also “Show Layers Only” check box should be deselected.

  18. Font name not suggested when typing in

    When I want to change a typeface to another and I start typing in the name, instead of loading a list of installed fonts related to the characters being typed, nothing happens. No suggestions loaded at all.

    sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. Can you please click on the little rectangle in the font name (below search button) and see the option selected?

    If it is “Search First Work Only”, change it to “Search Entire Font Name” and it will solve the issue.

  19. Show Tints/Shades menu issue

    Show Tints/Shades menu in color guide does not allow to select a color on a first click, most of times you have to click several times to select the color, and on my Cintiq 13 Companion it is almost impossible to do it with the stilus.

  20. Borders_Dashed Treatment Changes Spot Color to Process

    I draw a box, stroke it with a spot color, apply a "borders_dashed" treatment. The Spot color becomes process. Please fix.
