Currently selected artboard not automatically highlighted as per normal
Running Mac 10.13.6 and AI 22.1
In all previous versions of Illustrator the artboard you are currently on remains highlighted so you know which on you are on.
In this version, the artboard is only highlighted while working in it. If I click into a menu item (say 'Object') then the highlighted artboard disappears and I no longer know which one I am on. Clicking on the blank artboard, which usually highlights that clicked on artboard, doesn't work. The only work around is to click onto another artboard and then back to the first. I've had this issue maybe 6 times in the last few days but I don't know how to always reproduce it.
Please confirm if this bug does not longer happens in the latest versions of Illustrator.

That is odd... for me the current artboard gets highlighted in the panel with a bluish stripe when it gets focused on canvas, and vise versa.
Can you please record a short video to show how it works for you? -

@Egor, I apologize. I realize that since 2018 the problem has inverted, and since I spend so much time frustrated with this application, I was inaccurate in this response. You're correct that in my experience with the 2023/2024 versions of Illustrator the current artboard is generally given a slightly heavier stroke, like the original behavior. The current problem is that the active/selected artboard is almost never highlighted in the Artboard panel. So functionally you still don't know which one you're working on.

I'm currently running OS 12.7.3 and AI 28.2, and the issue is not fixed. I ran Ventura for a while with AI 2023, and the problem persisted there, if that makes a difference.
