@eb, do you have the fonts installed?
Can you please share both the font files and the document with the team so they can review it?
You can either attach them here, if you are allowed to, or send them directly to sharewithai@adobe.com (in this case please mention the link to this bug report, https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/51392119)

Siam, please tell more about your tablet, the driver version, the Windows version, the Illustrator build.
Also, do you have the Enable Wacom option enabled in Ai’s Preferences > Devices? Do you have Windows Ink enabled? Does toggling these and relaunching Ai change anything?

Again, Illustrator allows to have it today also — some of it.
Please study the Placement Options (the Fill method specifically) in Links panel.
They won’t survive skewing (it throws the positioning completely off), but stay correctly filled after rotating and scaling.

    Ai allows this today.
There is an Object > Clipping Mask > Edit Contents / Mask command. By default it doesn’t have a hotkey assigned, and you can make one (I have it at Opt/Alt+7, to match the 7 digit).
Also, Control panel (not Properties, it lacks many things) has two paired buttons: Edit Clipping Path & Edit Contents — they do the exact same thing as the menu command.

Please check and comment back if it works for you.

Why not group Swatches and Character together and have them both displayed at once? Illustrator allows to customize the interface to your global and current needs, save setups as workspaces and toggle them.

Yep. In a mixed selection of both embedded and still linked images Ai disables the button (sadly)... And Links doesn’t offer a way to separate and quickly select one type or another.

As a workaround I can offer a free Select Menu plugin (https://rj-graffix.com/downloads/plugins/#selectmenu) — it adds a pack of commands,, including Select > Object > Basic Art Types > Placed Art. This should speed up your workflow a bit (and you can assign a hotkey to it or wrap into an action, to speed it up).

As for the unlocking the showing the locked and hidden ones... I suppose it goes way to against what Lock and Hide are for, select All can’t select these.
But perhaps a dedicated command in Links panel (now a full clone of the button in Control) can be altered to work with none selected at all to offer some global choices, instead of being just grayed out.

Protecting locked images from embedding is actually a correct thing to have, but I agree that AI should provide a way to embed locked too right there, when you embed them, without you making steps 4–6.

Multi-core is still a better thing to have, sure.

Meanwhile you can use VectorFirstAid plugin by AstuteGraphics that can do it and even more.

Also, try the free script by Carlos Canto:

Partially it can be done via Flatten Transparency trick.
Fully — via VectorFirstAid plugin by AstuteGraphics.
    Voted though.

Text mode is one of several existing modes, and I can’t say AI does a perfect job to signal some commands would work or not or change the behavior in different modes enough. This command is one of them. Create Outline works in general mode, but not in the text mode, because it works with objects only, not with characters you selected. Ai doesn’t offer splitting text in characters, lines, or paragraphs (there’s a request for this, BTW: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/40953034 — an there are many free and paid scripts and plugins that offer this, most powerful being the Astute Graphics’ VectorFirstAid’s Break Text at Selection — https://docs.astutegraphics.com/vectorfirstaid/vectorfirstaid-panel/vectorfirstaid-panel-flyout-menu). And since Ai doesn’t offer it from the box, it can’t allow to outline a portion of text, breaking the flow of text (imagine selecting one word in the very middle of an area type text...)

Anyway, sorry for ranting, the request makes total sense, but it solely depends on the missing functions requested above.
    Crosslinkining, upvoting! Thanks

Can’t confirm, but I’m on Windows.
Perhaps it’s OS-specific, or the settings I used differ.
George, does it happen in any file you try? a new one? in both RGB and CMYK?
Can you please share settings used, test files, some screenshots?

Yep... each dialog with a progress bar need a Cancel (and it should work!)
There are a couple related requests:
    — Implement a "quit function" command: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/42986886
    — Cancel button in progress bar windows should work: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/35247106

That’s an interesting approach... There are many votes for making the mode visually more aggressive, so that it’s instantly clear if it’s turned on or not, here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31907047 (and the hotkey to just avoid digging in the menu). The mode is powerful, but indeed, we often need to use it once and immediately disable.
But this should replace the current approach, I believe... as usual, there can be a lot of users who are just happy with the permanent mode and they just don’t say anything. Making these 'two modes for a mode' can be a tough thing to make easy to grasp and use... instead of reducing complexity it can create more...
But I love the idea anyway.

Mick, Ai offers several .ait templates for this.
Basically, renaming any .ai document into .ait would turn it into a template — launching it from Finder/Explorer would create a new unnamed doc with a full copy of what the template has inside, including layers. The artboard size and the number of artboards would be fixed too, but it can be changed later.
Does this method suits you? If not — please tell more about your tasks.

Larry, the Shear is not supported as an inherited value, nor by path or even live shapes (rectangles, ellipses, stars, etc.), so the values is not stored within it and you can’t input one, see it in the field, and then change it back to zero, like we can do with angle value for live shapes. Shearing is a 'final deformation'. Therefore each mouse wheel rotation applies 1° and it keeps shearing the changes path again and again, rather than changing the original shape.
So I’d call it not a bug, but rather a request to support shearing for live shapes. For simple non-live-shape paths it won’t be applicable anyway, same as rotation, but live shapes would definitely benefit from storing it.

    I confirm.
Rectangle (being a path with a custom 'live shape' attribute, allowing it to have rectangle-specific control in Transform and elsewhere) looses the 'live shape' status when a Shear value is applied to it.
It looks like these just don’t support shearing.

It's kind of weird idea. I understand why you want this. But 'Object' is not a unchangeable thing. I can cut segments, join them, move anchors — how would this reflect on 'object's' shear/rotation/scaling? What if I take rectangle (path in fact) and manually move it's anchors away from center, making it larger without scaling it? (I do this more often then scaling) And what if I try to 'reset scaling' then?
When I wish to control rotation after some time, I use 'Transform' effect. A lot of then, stacked. I also wish that I could combine interactivity of Rotate toll with an ability to edit rotation automatically. Like Some option for a toll would create this Effect for me. This can be done.
But your idea is just not that well-formed yet. You have my vote still.
