Taper was added to the Blob Brush setting. This update is available in the latest version 1.3.

Export to JPEG was already there in 1.0.
In the latest update more controls for export formats have been added.

We were able to ship support for Art and Calligraphic Brushes in our 2.0 release. But there is more to be done for Import / Export of (atleast) these Brush types. We’re keeping this thread open for your feedback. Thank you!
Agreed, just like others, the pencil is why I bought the ipad but the auto-closing of lines renders this app useless as it's just adding more work to fix those paths!!
