An error occurred while saving the comment ekc commentedseriously. trying to explain to production that the bleed is built into the artboard and why is a lot more confusing to get across than i would've thought. Yes, I could have placed it into an InDesign file since it goes up to 6" but: a) yet another step b) would start the whole production process over to send different files & c) you just should NOT have to bounce around programs for something as "simple" as this.

Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html . Since this is not a generic issue that we can reproduce at our end, we will need someone to look into your machine to figure out what is going on here.
Warm Regards,

I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 24.1.2 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

It is now obvious the issue was not fixed fully. The developers are aware of it now. Let’s hope it will be fixed soon enough.
If you have a solid order of steps which reproduce this behavior, share them in comments, because only some machines are affected. Please help the team to isolate it.
An error occurred while saving the comment ekc commentedglad to know it's not just me that uses the x/y all the time. my issue is similar but usually it displays on the x/y values correctly, but the dimensions will be off by .0001. So if something is 4.246" and I move an element of it .004, it shows up as 4.2499 or 4.2501. It's almost as if the display values are rounded from the actual values (similar to how artboard values round to 2 decimals on the display, but the actual size is accurate). if that makes sense at all. Frustrating because it continues to throw of dimensions and glitch further unless you undo and try again with different reference points etc. Same weirdness happens for W/H values when scaling - when entering values and when using the arrows to adjust as well. Adjust the width and the height scales .0001 more or less than it should, and vice versa. These errors happen in conjunction and independently of each other - and can start to compound, taking you even farther away from the accurate value. Even weirder is sometimes just changing the reference point and repeating the same actions = accurate results. Seriously obnoxious and has happened to me for at least two years on every update.

Sanjitekc supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment ekc commentedyeah... i was excited at first, until i realized that auto-simplify wasn't what I expected or even close to the ideal values for 99% of situations. Even with my custom shortcut to simplify, it takes more steps and is just... kind of obnoxious really. Ideally there should be a way to set your own default preferences for "auto-simplify," but even just adding a slider for the angle threshold to the first window would resolve my issues with the update. Unnecessary anchor points are my nemesis so I've developed a pretty solid method for cleaning them up while retaining accuracy. So yeah this is really starting to be a pain - especially when cleaning up extremely complicated CAD files yiiiikes.
---
PS: my method is to simplify in sections, start at 100% and 0 degrees and adjust the % down from there. 98-100% being ideal and gets rid of everything necessary with little to no change in appearance almost every time, 97 is still semi-safe - below that usually loses too much accuracy but sometimes necessary. This is the most accurate and effective way to clean up anchor points without having to tweak/redraw/cry/etc. The key is doing it in sections so you only simplify the offenders instead of oversimplifying the whole object (start where you know an anchor point should be/makes sense, select that and the points between it and the next "logical" point, simplify, and repeat. e.g. a circle - select from the top center point to the center of one side > simplify, repeat so you end up with the 4 base points of a circle. another example: select the points from one sharp angle to the next) Not sure if any of this makes sense out loud - i can send screenshots if anyone's interested.) -

this should not be closed. I've seen it mentioned in several other places throughout this forum. consolidating them to one suggestion would reflect the actual support for this issue. It happens to every image in a file that has been recovered. Having to go through a file that has a lot of different images that have been replaced with black boxes is extraordinarily time consuming, frustrating, and confusing. Especially since you embed images to avoid things like this in the first place...
