application frame glitch?
- macOS Catalina 10.15, Illustrator 23.1.1
this has happened twice since updating. each time has been random and in the middle of working as usual.
suddenly, i will try to click on a panel, but nothing happens (none will open/expand unless moved from the bar to a separate panel). also when selecting a different document tab, the file name switches, but window stays the same. until you turn off the application frame. but if you do that, then when turning the frame back on, it's blank - no windows, tabs, panels, toolbars, etc. and wont let you turn anything else on or off (toolbars, application bar, new windows...)
I don't have a screenshot of leading up to the frame on/off, but it wouldn't have helped much anyway since it was almost as if parts of the application were frozen and others not. But I have attached how it looks with the application frame off (to "unfreeze" panels and tabs) vs when turning it back on (blank nothingness). Restarting solved the problem the first time this happened, but now here we are again...

Please see this other thread linked below. I believe this is related to the same issue; I've tried to attach links in that one to a number of other posts talking about the same thing. Hoping we can all comment in ONE, so that we get noticed! : )

I've been facing the same issue since updating to Catalina too. Panels stop rendering/updating and everything is "frozen" in place no matter what other panel I'm clicking on. Incredibly frustrating.
