Saving custom presets is now available in BETA starting V28.6.578.
With this new change, you can now configure your own document preset and save it for later use. To access this functionality, configure your preset from the File > New dialog (only for the modern one, the legacy dialog don’t provide it) and click the Save Preset button next to the document’s name in the top right corner of the dialog.
Your custom preset is now saved and accessible from the 'Saved' category.
Please try out this feature, so that if there are any feedback from you, we can resolve them and make this feature available to everyone.

The issue has been fixed in a public release 3.0.6.
Please update it directly from App Store.
If the issue still persists — please comment back.

An error occurred while saving the comment L Coyle commentedOne of the most important functions missing from the iPad is that we must apply appearance settings after drawing, and we are prevented from drawing with transparency, brush stroke settings, etc. This is the basic behavior users expect from Illustrator.

An error occurred while saving the comment L Coyle commentedWe need to be able to copy and paste artwork from one iPad document to another and retain the layers. Currently, when you copy/paste, everything gets flattened into one layer, and it requires tedious workarounds to re-layer your art.

We have done further updates to Dimension tool with recently released version - 28.3
You can create and use your custom scale for dimension, hide or show units on dimensions and dimensions are now sticky to the object - they transform as well when you transform the object.

An error occurred while saving the comment L Coyle commentedYes! I've been wanting this too. So many of us create copies of art, and scatter them all over the document before realizing they could be symbols. At that point, Illustrator should help when it recognizes those copies (Global Edit) by giving the option to create symbols. We also need the placed instances to adopt the scale and rotation of the original copies. And I agree with Egor, we need at the very least, to be able to get a selection from objects in Global Edit (although I like the workaround you posted about show/hide).

According to the team, there was an issue because of live color preview, and it had to be disabled in 27.6.1. The team is working on fixing the issue at the earliest, and then the live color feature would be in the release with the fix.

We know what program we're using, it says it in the top center of the window - please go back to having the word "Illustrator" alone on the left end of the menu bar. For Mac users with the camera cutout, there's limited space.
