An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Hélène David-Cuny commentedThank you Egor, that's very kind of you. I am not on windows and unfortunately, if there there is no equivalent of autohotkey for mac, I am out. I find this so careless from Adobe (among many other things) because there are so many graphists working on mac !
An error occurred while saving the comment Hélène David-Cuny commentedI seems to depend on keeboards. I use a Mac French keyboard and there is no ~ key. The equivalent is alt-n but it doesn't work for the pattern change. If you have the trick which key will work, please tell me. I had asked to Adobe help line but they were unable to tell me...

The latest Beta 28.8.0.37 now has this function back.
You can enable the mode using a button in Control Panel or in Properties, with the Artboard tool picked.
The option automatically enables Scale Strokes & Effects option temporarily.
As always, you can hold Shift to resize proportionally.
Please test it and comment back!

Starting from the February 2024 release, version 28.3, this option is no longer enabled by default for new documents. If you had hyphenation enabled in an existing document, Ai will respect this.

The solution is pushed into Global Availability build 28.6.
PDF is now available as type in File > Export > Export As dialog.
However, File > Adobe PDF Presets menu, similar to one InDesign has, to allow even quicker export, is absent still.
If you want to have it, please upvote this new request here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/48670088

Dear users,
You can now see a new 'save selection' button on the layers panel which enables to select multiple objects and save it for later use. Please try it out in BETA and let us know your feedback.

This is done in one of the latest releases.
Now the button in Control panel (and in Links panel menu) says ‘Edit in Photoshop’. You also can change it back to system defaults in Preferences > File Handling section.InDesign has more options, that is true, so please comment back if you need a larger list — but please give a solid justification why :)

We are working towards giving preference to Photoshop for editing linked images, if Ps is installed. This may mean the label showing as ‘Edit on Photoshop’ when an linked image is selected. The change does not affect OS level file type associations.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hélène David-Cuny commentedTotally agree with the comments, this is basic necessity for graphists. Sometimes we need only a quick preview of our images and this is why we choose the adequate software as default application in the finder, but in Adobe we need to be able to access quickly the serious graphic software !

Hi Everyone,
This has been completed, and has available since June 2020 release (version 24.2)
Please go to Illustrator preferences > General > and select “Show/Hide Rulers” (refer attached screenshot). After checking this, if you hit ‘Show Rulers (Ctrl/Cmd + R)’, then the rulers will appear in every document (new and old), even after relaunching Illustrator.
Please update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback.

Thank you Egor :-) I know nothing about programming but maybe I find someone who would help.
