Please make Optical Kerning the default instead of Automatic.
It's a draw on productivity when I have to change Optical Kerning to Automatic in each new document.

Illustrator Macos
Currently Illustrator ues lots of system memory and .performance wise it's not optimized on mac, it doesn't use metal api. why in the world adobe not use metal api... now adobe need to optimize on mac to run faster and doesn't need lots of ram .
I want metal api, run faster open faster ... still slow on imac pro

When entering colour values Illustrator searches your currently open swatch book for the same values.
So for example if you are doing a CMYK colour, once you've put in the values it comes up with a "suggested swatch" option that has the same values or even suggests swatches with similar/close values.

Have Untitled Illustrator document be reset to number 1
Dear Sir or Madam:
I don't like the way Adobe Illustrator keeps incrementing an Untitled document numbering each time you create a new file. I would rather have Adobe Illustrator Untitled document be set to Untitled-1 document each time I create a new Adobe Illustrator file. Please consider this feature. Thank you very much for your time.

Image skew potential
Image skew option like photoshop. Here we have to make envelope distort.

Turn off "Could not complete the requested operation. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing"
I routinely work with large art files, and while I would love the drawing area to be unlimited, it seems like that's never going to happen.
In the meantime, please add an option to turn off the warning message; "Could not complete the requested operation. The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely off the drawing area". I know when I use the transform tool and I've previously moved an object a great distance across the drawing area that I can't repeat that operation. I don't need to be reminded of that constantly. The behavior of this dialog box…

Changed color rounding
Since the update to Illustrator 24.1 the way color decimals are rounded has changed. So we can't update anymore.
We have lots of documents coming from RGB and must be translated into CMYK. After that we use a huge action to transform these colors. Because of the problem descriped before we have to stay on an old illustrator version to be able our workflow is running correctly.
We hoped that a newer version will solve the problem someday but nothing happend. Do we have to investigate days of work to update our workflow?

Properties panel displays useless duplicate options when More Options is clicked
In properties palette, when an object is selected, click on the ... on the right side of the first section AKA More OPTIONS displays the exact same thing that is already in the top section WITH the addition of the Scale corners and strokes, etc. What is the world is that for? Why not just have the OPTIONS to be the scale part and like the NORMAL palettes "More Options" they could be available all the time or collapsed.

Default overprint black text is missing in AI 2020 v24.2.3.
Several generations earlier this feature was the default. Although type is filled black by default, it is NOW not set to overprint. I have to select all the black type and manually open Attributes panel and select "overprint fill." This is counterproductive.

Always Auto Alignment / Scale to Fit to Artboard for dragging in assets
When dragging in assets, allow to be able to have an options to tick (and allow to remember the settings and to control it in Preferences):
- [ always auto align center artboard ] (with an ability to select alignment point for example top left, bottom right etc.)
- [ always scale to fit artboard ]
- [ always scale to certain percentage ]
Main purpose — to further shorten working time.

Alt+click to create an artboard and open artboard dimensions
Alt+Click in artboard work space to set location AND open an artboard dimensions dialog box. At present we have to draw an artboard and then go edit the dimensions. Currently its 2 clicks and a couple of drags, instead of just one click with the proposal above.
Also most other tools have "Alt+Click" features enabled, think "square" "rotate" "scale". etc.

2D physics engine
Nothing too complex. Just an engine allowing user to apply rigid body and collider body to shapes and symbols. A timeline to play the effect, then we can bake a state into a frozen frame. Along the lines of Newton in After effects.

Double-click of text should not select trailing space on macOS
On macOS, When using double-click to select a word in a text object, Illustrator is also selecting any trailing space. That is a common Windows behavior, but shouldn't be that way on macOS. Double-click should just select a the word (no surrounding whitespace).

New Crop Tool: Crop Placed Image to Mask Shape
Images (jpg, png or photoshop formats) placed in illustrator (with "link” box checked) and then masked to fit within the document or a special shape often have more image then is needed. This adds to the saved .ai file size. So users need to edit the original in photoshop and crop approx. to the size of the mask in illustrator to trim down the photo and its data size.
The “Crop Image” function will allow users to trim the dimensions of the image, but requires embedding after cropping, which actually adds file size to .ai file.
It would really help…

境界線を隠すコマンドを以前の仕様に戻してほしいです。
せっかく境界線を隠すコマンドを使用しているのに、複数オブジェクトを選択するとはじめに選択したオブジェクトの境界が現れます。
また、テキストの一部文章を選択した際も選択範囲が強調され、選択部分のみのカラー変更をする際に変更がリアルタイムに確認できません。1 vote -

Grab symbols by bounding box points
When the Preference 'Object Selection By Path Only' is active, symbols can't be grabbed at the control points of the symbol's bounding box.
We can not move a Symbol by dragging a corner point.Please repair.

Export or save as SVG
Please improve dramatically the save as or export option to SVG file!
As many people have already requested, please simplify the code.
But my request deals with SVG export with indic languages: IT JUST SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, even if all corresponding options (Parameters / Text / Indic and Asian line by line composer) have been selected in Illustrator!!!
I attach two screen shots: the first one is Illustrator screen, the second the SVG result. You will see that the devanagari text is completely different.
For your information, I have already mentionned that problem on or two years…4 votes
