1. a way to nest objects on art board for sign makers

   Idea: Take multiple objects, such as multiple copies of a logo or elements and nesting them within the artboard and a feature to say how much space you want between each object.

   Reason: When it comes to signs or sending a print job to a plotter. Sign makers want to maximize the number of objects on a vinyl. Sure we can manually move objects or even use the distribute tool. but this takes to long and sometimes when selecting multiple objects you can not use the distribution tool to distribute both vertical and horizontal at the same time or objects int he middle.

   Solution. There are companies out ther with a plug in however they are expensive and only work on windows computer. it would be easier for illustrator to just have the feature built in. to use on all platforms.

2. Imported SVG path elements - always black fill

   I am using the latest version of AI (early 2019).

   I notice that SVG path elements often lose their fill color. (They are always black.)

   Have not been able to pin down the exact circumstances where this fails, but I am attaching a bare bones file which exhibits the issue clearly.

   This file displays perfectly in (e.g.) chrome. There's a red and a green filled path.

   But when importing the SVG to AI, the 'red' path loses its fill and becomes black. The green fill is honored on input. I can't see any meaningful difference between the way the fill is described. The two paths are congruent.

   Note: The file was originated in AI. The 'red' fill CSS rule was added manually in a text editor after export. I believe it is well-formed SVG code.

   You can swap the class attributes between the two paths (in a text editor) and it will fail to import the fill for the other path.

   If you change the classname from "aha_red" to "st1" (both in the style element and in the class attribute for the path) it works fine.

   Can it be that AI is fussy about classnames 'not originated here'?

   No problem with polygon, rect, circle etc. Only path elements!

   And (BTW, GRR!) this webform wont accept SVG files. Had to rename it to .txt.

3. Syncable Color Swatch/Palette Library

   it would be nice to have one library with different categories.. you update it once and see it in every illustrator file!
   this would be very useful for personal use but also in teams, somewhat like a kuler for illustrator.

4. Make an option to show text sections with 'No break' applied to them

   'No break' is a goo thing to have, but it's invisible even when Hidden Characters are on. Make something for those who have to work with text in AI to see these sections

5. Dynamic Text (as in Photoshop) or Capitalize (optional) & Fit (as in Adobe Spark / Express)

   In Adobe Spark, when creating a Post, there's a nice feature which allows you to create a dynamic text box which capitalizes, scales, and fits the words to a text box, as you click and drag the handles of the text box. In Adobe Spark the feature is called "Capitalize & Fit". It would be nice to have something similar in Illustrator.

6. Is it possible to custom CSS classes? not Id's (so layers)

   Like in Inkscape where we can see the SVG output and modify it before export.
   I know there is Graphic Styles etc.

7. CC cloud library "view by group" option when relink images...

   The addition of "view by group" option to organize assets has become paramount to manage great projects. But... I've faced the problem that when I want to relink any file from Cloud Libraries, the panel appears without any grouping or organization, needing to search through houndreds of individual asstes, manytimes sharing same name, and small enough to be undifferenciated each other.

8. Smart Guides limited to current artboard

   An option to have Smart Guides only snap to things that are actually on the current artboard.

   It's annoying to be working on an empty artboard and have everything snap to things far off the screen on some other artboards. That can be pretty annoying.

   Illustrator 2026 allows use to choose if we want Smart Guides to be limited to the currently active artboard.

   We can toggle the behavior in Preferences > Smart Guides section, in Limit Snapping block, with the new Snap Within: Active Artboard.

   Please try to use it and comment back to tell if it behaves as you expect it to. Any feedback is really appreciated and would help to shape it further.

9. Make it easier to use the color in paint bucket. it defaults to greyscale and hard to find way out of that. it should just be intuitive.

   JUST MAKE IT EASY TO USE

   I just want to get things done quick. why will an image we import to vectorize automatically be greyscale? AND WHY DO YOU MAKE IT HARD TO FIND HOW TO GET COLOR IN THERE??????

   old forum articles are obsolete, so why not just make it easier to use in the first place

10. Show the options used for an action step recorded

    In the Actions panel, most of the settings for some recorded tasks such as saving, exporting, etc. does not show up in the actions panel so I cannot even tell what file type the step is saving as. Is that intentional?

    Until CS5, processing 1000 selected rectangles need a couple of seconds, but on newer CC Versions it needs MINUTES.

    I use exactly the same code - is there something i am missing?

    Mainly accessing "path.PathPoints" (needs ~ 15 msec.) and "path.FillColor" (needs ~ 20 msec.) are time consuming.

    Thanks in advance for any hint! I have the performance issues on Win 7 and on Win 10.

13. Please remove the pop-up tip from the Color Themes panel

    It's difficult to try out colors in this panel, because a pop-up tip appears right underneath your pointer every time. I'd love to see the "Click to set active color" pop-up removed, as it makes the colors difficult to select and it really isn't even that informative.

14. Paste and match style within illustrator

    When copying from one text box with style A, then pasting into a text box with style B -- provide the ability to paste as style B in a single keystroke or step. Currently the default is to keep style A when pasting which requires an additional step to convert the style B.

15. Backward compatibility

    Making an artwork for some laser wood cutting machines suppose to save as old AI versions, as CS2. No problem with backward compatibity until CC 2019, where all strokes are converted into thin fills.

16. Width tool messes up the width points when a path is extended / shortened / cut

    Maybe this feature exists already but I haven't been able to find it.

    When using the width tool, it would be nice if you could "freeze" the width nodes in their position, so you could extend or shorten the path. Today the nodes adjust to the new length of the path, messing up all your previous work.

17. Drag and snap by specific point

    Sometimes I want to drag a specific point of a path and move it to another specific part of another path but Illustrator makes it difficult to do it precisely. I wish it was easier to do that without having to create more anchor points.

18. Bring back Access Keys Underscores

    AI 23.0 Win7x64 hides underscores until Alt is pressed down, while 22.1 shows them always. 22.1 does it rights, and 23.0 does not. Please give us option to always display underscores.

19. Rotation of the Canvas

    Like in Photoshop it would be great if an Artist could rotate the artboard/canvas in Illustrator. If you draw a line from left to right it's never the same stroke as from up to down.

    Hi friends! I have some great news for your today. Rotate View (Canvas) feature is available in Illustrator 25.3 (Desktop) now. Thank you all for your feedback which helped us shape up this feature.

So a 10" x 10" artboard will produce an SVG file with its pixel dimensions set to 720px x 720px. This means each SVG produced by Illustrator appears to shrink when imported into almost any other modern application. Please either:
    a) Change Illustrator's default scaling calculation to use 96 dpi.
    b) Provide an option/switch in the SVG Options window to allow selection of the scaling method - with the default set to 96!
