    Illustrator allows this today with Shape Builder tool.

    You need to hold Opt/Alt and either click or brush through the excessive portion of the path, and Ai will trim it to the next intersection or between intersections. Works with selected objects only.

    The precision of the tool is limited and bound to internal grid of the document. There is a bug report about this you might want to upvote.

  3. Illustrator CC often crash if GPU Performance is enabled on Macbook Pro Touch Bar 2016

    Actually, turn it off will solve the issue, but sluggish zoom in/out.

  4. The ability to increase the text size, change font and color of any menu, panel or dock item

    Some of us are going blind. Give users more flexibility with the program interface please. This will help a lot of people with eye strain.

  5. Pattern origin

    Why is the pattern anchored to the art board and not the item? I often create shapes and apply a pattern (lets say a plaid) and I adjust the alignment of the pattern so that it is equal on all sides. If I then copy the shape containing the pattern so that I can then offer the client a different color combination of the pattern, I now have to nudge the pattern of the new shape to align properly again! Because the pattern is anchored to the art board not the shape.

    This behavior can be toggled in Preferences > General > Transform Pattern Tiles.

    Once enabled, the pattern stays relative to the object it’s applied to, when you move or copy it between documents.

    It also makes it deform if you stretch, resize, rotate,  skew or transform the object, because it’s all a part of 'transformations' we can make.

  6. Add a way to protect chosen colors in Recolor while randomizing, and allow to limit chosen colors to different libraries, all in one session

    I use the Recolor (color mixer/wheel) daily. I have come across a couple features missing.

    Feature Request 1:
    - I use the 'randomize/recolor' tool to scroll through a self-made palette and recolor prints with several colors.
    - When I've come across a semi-acceptable mix, I can't lock in the colors I like.
    - To hold those colors, I have to save and close the color mix window, then reopen and 'lock' those colors
    - This adjusted feature would allow me to 'lock' the couple colors that are working for the print, while being able to scroll through options for the…

  8. Shorter toolbar size

    Hi, any chance of being able to have an option of a shorter version of the Tools palette. When I have it set to single column using a 15" MacBook this runs off the bottom of the screen. I know I could set it to double column but I like to have a maximum working area. Just a thought…

  9. Unable to Resize Tool Panels (vertical axis)

    Cannot 'grab' the bottom edge of a panel in the right column to move up or down. Panel size seems 'locked.' This causes lots of wasted space in the right column tool set UI. This problem exists in both the Essentials workspace and the Essentials Classic. This was not an issue in previous versions of Ai. Thanks for addressing this bug!

    Hello the new properties panel is good however if you select a single object there is no option to align that object, if you select more than one it comes up...

  13. 2D Extrude

    I would like a 2D extrude feature. For example...

    1. Draw a box and add extra points to it.
    2. Select every other set of two points (i.e. segments) and pull them so they extrude out (instead of bend - or have the choice of bend OR extrude), perpendicular to the line they're on.

    Currently I have to duplicate and rotate and then merge... I'd rather like to be able to pull out extruded segments without having to do it manually.

  15. TouchBar customization

    Can you please make available the option to customize the MacBook Pro Touch Bar in Adobe Illustrator. The new MacBook Pro Touch Bar is very useful and handy. The shortcuts that I can use with the Touch Bar save me a lot of time.

  16. Customizable zoom levels (including mouse wheel zoom and hotkeys)

    The current mouse wheel zoom (ALT + wheel) only navigates between zoom presets, making it incredibly difficult to use since the scale factor only doubles/halves most of the time. This is especially true when using touch mouse wheels (e.g., Microsoft surface mouse).

    A setting that switches between this mode and a finer grain zoom (e.g., +/- 10% of current, possibly user-preference defined) would make this much more useful.

  17. 【要望】ファイルを開いたときにサブレイヤーを展開しないようにしてもらいたいです。Please not expand sublayer each time I open file.

    レイヤーをスッキリ見せるためにサブレイヤーを使用しています。
    しかし、ファイルを開くたびにサブレイヤーが展開され、逆にごちゃごちゃ見えてしまいます。
    展開しないよう、改善してもらえたら嬉しいです。

    I am using a sublayer to make the layer look simple&clean.
    However, every time I open a file, the sublayer expands and conversely looks messy.
    I would be happy if you could improve it so as not to expand it.

  18. Deactivate unused functions / tools / filters / plugins

    An option to deactivate unused functions. In that way we could not only deactivate keyboard shortcuts (which it's already doable), but also speed up loading times and work flow.

  20. Grid or Guides Calculator

    Have a make grid or guides feature with a grid calculator that was artboard dependant.

    • as in I could have different grids on different artboards
    • proportional grids
    • vertical grids and guides as well as horizontal

    The amount of time I take having to set up grids, by drawing boxes and dragging in guides, to do my layout is enormous.

    It is such a fundamental part of graphic design, I feel like it should really be embedded in illustrator. I have noticed that the new Photoshop has it. Also indesign has it. But really i need it more in illustrator.
