1. Allow to convert a live blend into Objects on Path

   Blends are cool to when you need to create intermediate objects or colors, but these sucks when you need to create a uniform distribution — Ai stupidly uses’ the spine’s curvature to control both the spine’s curvature AND the distribution (requested to get improved here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/32403880)

   But now we have Objects on Path, which can’t provide any other distribution except uniform one (yet, we hope).
   But, as usual, two similar functions remain completely separated and non-ingedrated (we saw this before with Repeat Grid and pattern, and there is a request to allow conversion of one into another here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/45233863 — along with 'why can’t we add these as swatches, here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/41686228)

   So it’s a similar one — allow to convert a live blend directly into Objects on Path. This would allow to solve the uniformity / acceleration for blends first, but then it’s just a question of cutting a corner between these two VERY similar tools.

2. Make a way for Scale Artwork with Artboard mode to NOT scale strokes and effects

   It’s good to finally have Scale Artwork with Artboard option (http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31500847), but I really wish for it to respect Scale Strokes & Effects option.
   For now Scale Artwork with Artboard behaves as if it’s always enabled... I realize scaling strokes is natural for this mode, but the current way means if we need to scale an artboard, but NOT scale the strokes — we can’t do that.
   It almost feels like it should be a separate option specifically for it.

4. Allow to change the color of a 3D material without editing it in Substance

   Die Änderung der Materialfarben für die 3D-Darstellung in Illustrator funktioniert nicht - insbesondere die Farbänderung ist nicht möglich. Hier muss mann immer umständlich neue Farben in Substance anlegen :/

   Changing the material colors for the 3D rendering in Illustrator doesn't work—especially changing the color isn't possible. You always have to laboriously create new colors in Substance :/

5. Simplifying Object Size Adjustments

   Please make it easier (again) to change the size of objects. I'm not sure whether it's a bug in the new version or a new "feature," but it would be much easier if I could just click on an object and then click and pull on the edge to change its height or width.

   I mean, yes, it's possible to use the direct selection tool and select the corners to change it, but as soon as this object (for example, a square) is slightly rotated, it's hard to keep the object straight while changing its "height" (it's not really the height anymore if the object is rotated, but I don't know how else to describe it).

   It's a pretty standard function every program has it, I believe even Photoshop does. Would be very cool if it could become easier

6. Display Move Locked and Hidden Artwork with Artboard option in Control panel and Properties while using Artboard tool / mode

   The Move Locked and Hidden Artwork with Artboard option should be displayed when the user is actually in the "Edit Artboard" mode, using the Artboard tool. It is common problem when you want to duplicate an artboard and you have locked background. In most cases, I want to move my artwork with the background.

7. Make an option to allow resizing artboards with their content to affect hidden and locked layers/objects

   Current problems:

   1. It does not resize hidden layers/objects
      (huge problem, which I only realized later after unhiding a layer, and had to revert to a previous save. I see now there's a warning, but that doesn't solve the issue).

   2. It does not resize locked layers/objects
      (It should work similarly to Resize Image in photoshop where everything resizes.)

   Illustrator allows to affect hidden and locked object and layers when resizing artboards.

   Go to Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display and enable Move Locked and Hidden Artwork with Artboard option.

   I’d agree it should say 'Move and Scale', and there is a separate request to allow to toggle this option right next to the buttons that enable 'Move/Copy' and 'Scale' modes in Control and Properties panels — please upvote it.

8. Make 3D material texture scale apply consistently across an entire group/compound path (replicating gradient behavior)

   There is currently no way to have a design consisting of multiple disconnected shapes that "share" one single material texture scale in the 3D feature. The scale of the texture is determined by the size of each shape; small shapes have small, squished textures and large shapes have large, stretched textures. I understand that each shape is determining what size is "100%" scale, but the behavior should be like it is elsewhere in Illustrator. When you apply a gradient to multiple shapes, each shape has the entire gradient because each shape's dimensions determine what the 100% scale is. However, if you create a group or compound path, the gradient now applies across all the separate shapes.

9. Allow to close Perspective Grid widget with any tool active, not only with Perspective Tools

   MANY users don’t know how to disable Perspective Grid.

   They don’t know about the View > Perspective Grid > Hide Grid menu command, and don’t even try to search for it, because they think that little 'x' is the only way to hide it...

   ...but that button only works when you have Perspective Grid Tool or Perspective Selection Tool picked, and does nothing when you have some other tool chosen.
   The button never looks deactivated and lie to us about being clickable.
   This modality makes zero sense.
   Please allow to click it any time with any tool.

10. Rotation of Subset of Shape Anchor Points via Direct Select

    Once you select multiple anchors on a path (but not all of them) you should be able to rotate only those anchors. Currently it's possible to move the anchors but not rotate them.
    Ex: You have a path creating a shape of a full body silhouette of a person with the face in profile. The face is looking straight left. You want to adjust the face to be looking more upward. Select the anchors that make up the head then new feature rotate those anchors so the head is tilted upward. Bonus Once you're in the rotate interface, have the ability to place a rotation anchor point around which the selected path anchors rotate.

11. Allow to snap to points of a symbol with Dimension Tool

    Is there any chance to make it works with symbols? Using multiple instances of a symbol is a basic workflow in many industries (especially in the fashion industry). Unfortunately you can’t work this way because the Dimension tool is not compatible with symbols.

    Allow adding of freeform gradients to CC libraries. Very inconvenient to have to re-open legacy files each time I need the gradient. This gradient is used consistently for our brand packaging across different products and designs.

13. Placed Image Scale Percentage

    We desperately need a way to tell the percentage scale of a placed image — or more specifcally, a set of placed images — in Illustrator. A perfect example of this is when you have a set of icons that are all designed at the same size relative to each other, with the same stroke widths. If you place 20 of them on the artboard, it's easy to accidentally have some slightly larger than others, and trying to normalize the scale is darned near impossible because there is ABSOLUTELY NO INDICATION ANYWHERE as to the scale that they're placed at.

14. Bigger variety of basic finishes for 3D materials: high gloss, matte, shiny metallic, matte, etc.

    Would be great to have better material adjustment tools — the 'metallic' slider doesn't really do very much except make the colour dull, would love to make it super vibrant metallic finish. A lot of the materials in Substance don't allow colour editing or more than one colour so this makes it really limited. Would love to achieve a bigger variety of basic finishes e.g. high gloss, matte, shiny metallic or matte.

    Would also love to have more extrusion options, it's crazy that you can make a cylinder but no possible way to make cuts through. I don't want to have to move to Blender for structures.

16. Disable all "Generative AI" marketing popups

    Whenever I use Illustrator lately, I'll be in the middle of editing a document when this annoying feature popup appears. Literally right in the middle of me trying to get work done.

    Please give me a way to disable this altogether. I have no interest in this feature. Please stop pushing it to me.

17. No puedo cambiar el tamaño de los objetos

    Desde hace unos meses que no he sido capaz de volver a utilizar illustrator porque NO ME DEJA CAMBIAR EL TAMAÑO DE LOS OBJETOS/ELEMENTOS. Esto quiere decir que para mi caso, la palicación se ha vuelto inútil. Supongo yo que es un bug de mi programa pero inlcuso desinstalando y volviendo a instalar. No funciona. Esto es muy frustrante y he tenido que migrar a otras aplicaciones de diseño, y francamente lo odio. Alguien me puede ayudar por Dios??? Eso es DESESPERANTE.

    You’ve accidentally turned off the bounding box it seems, probably with the Ctrl+Shift+B hotkey. Press it again to enable it back or use the menu command for this: View > Show Bounding Box.

18. Add ability to use artboard names when exporting.

    When you export PDF it would be nice to save artboards to individual files with the artboard name. Naming artboards doesn't really do much right now.

19. Better control over position of symbol in mapped classic 3d art

    When placing symbols for image maps in the classic 3D palette, I'd like to have more control over the position of the symbol to be mapped.

    Example: I'm using this function for mockups of labels on bottles. There are a number of bottles, each a different flavor, let's say 4. (The bottles are placed images.) I create a cylinder sized to the bottle image's label area, and map a label symbol to the cylinder for each flavor. The labels need to be in the same place on each cylinder, both size and position. And those 4 bottles with labels are multiplied by 2 or 3, depending on how many concepts there are. So, lots of noodling with the mapped symbols sizes and positions.

    This could take the form of, at the very least, a larger window for placement so you can actually see what you're doing, or fields for x/y and w/h values similar to how they are displayed for transform (but inside the mapping module).

    Another thought about expected behavior: if I copy/paste a mapped cylinder, and then go into the copy and change the mapped symbol to different symbol of another label of the same dimensions, the new symbol would be in the exact same size and position.

    I know you are working on adding mapped graphics to the "new" 3D effect, so maybe this will be added functionality? I know there are others who would appreciate it. When can we expect to try out this functionality in the "new" 3D effect?

    (FYI, I cannot share my company files in public, they're proprietary. But if someone wants to contact me I am happy to send screen shots or share my screen.)

20. Group all Gen ai features into one menu

    With the advent of more and more Gen AI features I highly wish that there is a dedicated Gen AI menu item in the object menu where all those features can be found.
    And this can and should be redundant as the Pattern fill can be with the Pattern Command (and others where they are already) but they should also be found in this new Gen AI Menu to have everything AI related in one place. No guessing just a single place to look for these features and there will be more obviously.

    Beta 30.0.0.21 now has a dedicated Object > Generative menu with Generate Vectors / Expand / Recolor / Patterns, Print Bleed, Turntable and Generation History
