  2. Make it easy to colour pie charts using colour libraries.

    Unable to use the libraries colour menu to colour a pie chart. This is ridiculous. I had to make a separate box on the page and use the eyedropper to transfer the colour to the pie chart. Even the Eyedropper wouldn't work directly with the colour in the colour library and that is where all our brand colours are stored.

  3. Highlight missing fonts in a symbol

    Missing fonts do not get highlighted if used in a symbol.

  4. 3D shadows color and opacity change

    3D effects give only a black shadow that makes 3D object's color dirty, greyish. And it looks like 90's 3D effect. Possibility to change the shadow color? Or the shadow color bases on the object's colors and thus makes the diffuse.

    Add a lock option for Dimension tool to change Line Weights for both Dimension and Extension Line at the same time with one value

  6. Artboard instant activation by mouse hover

    Currently you to have select the artboard first by left click inside the area, inorder to apply certain operations.
    Can there be a toggle option to auto select or activate an artboard whenever mouse hover it? we don't need to click every time to make it active. It saves loads of clicks if you have a complex project with multiple artboards.

  7. Golden Ratio Option in the Character Panel

    I would like to suggest adding a Golden Ratio option to the Character Panel for selected typefaces. This feature could help users easily establish a clear visual hierarchy by automatically calculating proportional font sizes for headings, subheadings, and body text.

    Such an addition would streamline the process of creating balanced and aesthetically pleasing typography, ensuring that readers can quickly and intuitively distinguish between various text levels.

  8. Make 3D and Materials effect work with raster images

    3D and Materials effect doesn't work with raster images. It gives me a strange unrelated message (see attached) when I try. I use Classic 3D, it works, but unfortunately Classic 3D is not really precise and sometimes gives strange results, but better than nothing.

  9. Ability to create new fonts directly in Illustrator

    I want to be able to make a usable font in illustrator without having to use FontForge or another similar non-Adobe application.

  10. Hide/Show all text appearances in the Appearance panel

    Have the option to hide/show all appearances in the appearance panel, not just individual ones.
    When working with text, having the computer constantly redraw appearances — slows the workflow. The ability to hide all would drastically improve performance, especially on text with multiple strokes/complex fills.

  11. Explode Command

    There's a command in Autodesk 3ds max called "explode", it will ungroup a group of elements and all sub-groups under it, so if there's a group that includes multiple levels of sub-groups, they will all explode to individual elements or objects, would love to see that in Illustrator and Photoshop

  12. More templates for phones

    Would be great to have consideration of other mobile phone devices on market, not just focusing on Apple. Or remove the Apple phones & just have the sizes on handsets.

  13. Allow appearances to apply to linked files

    Linked documents (i.e. other .ai files) can't have their appearance modified.

    I.e. if I have a vector design.ai, I can place it in another .ai document however no stroke or fill options actually apply to the file.

    This makes scenarios where you have to invert the vector design.ai difficult without custom SVG filters to help try influence the linked document.

    Please add an ability to align individual points using the Align panel. This has always been an option, but it seems to have been removed.

  15. Calculate surface area with Dimension tool

    With the last update, you brought the possibility of customizing the scale in the dimension tools, thank you for that. Would it be possible to obtain a new tool for calculating the surface area in m², by selecting any closed shape?

  16. Bei einem Update vom Illustrator sollten bereits in den Presets vorhandene Skripte übernommen werden.

    Nach einem Versionsupdate müssen bereits verwendete eigene Skripte manuell in den Presets-Ordner kopiert werden. Dies sollte beim Update automatisch geschehen.

  17. Ability to save presets for each tab in 3D and Materials panels: Object, Materials, Lighting

    Illustrator allows us to save appearance attributes as graphic styles, but recently we got the complex 3D and Materials effect that has a lot of different parameters in it.

    The current system allows us to save all of these parameters altogether: extrusion depth, rotation angles, material settings, applied lights...
    But if we need to save ONE of these — that is, for example, only the material, or only the lights, or only extrusion and rotations, — Ai does not provide means to do it.

    Please introduce a system to save presets per each tab the 3D and Materials panel has:…

  18. Add an option to "place" an artboard inside an artboard of the same drawing.

    Could it be possible to place an artboard in another one?

    I have a particular workflow in which I have to create an illustration to be printed, and I have a "technical drawing" with some dimensions and comments related to the illustration on another page.
    In order to have only one document to keep both illustration and technical drawing synched, it could be fine to have this feature.

  19. Smooth Tool slider applies to a partial selection. Make a way to quickly apply it to the full selection

    According to Madelyn Renaud (form here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/938463/suggestions/46987777):

    'I also have not been able to find the option for a global selection vs local, so the tool continues to isolate a single edge, forcing me to return to the selection tool and re-select the other elements to begin smoothing again. It's horrible and has made a smooth workflow into something clunky and annoying. Please change the smooth tool back to the way it was before!'

  20. Display artboard captions when exporting artboards

    Every time when i have multiple artboards and hit Save As, Ii don't know exactly which artboards i want to include, cause i don't know the specific number.
    So i go back out of the save as dialog, pick the Artboard Tool and save again, now able to see which numbers i want to include. I would be less time consumption if it would show the numbers of the artboards always no matter which tool is selected, when there is a save as or export dialog started.
