  1. Add DXF/DWG Export To Increased Canvas Size In Illustrator 24.2 (and later)

    Would it be possible to add DXF/DWG as an export option for the new expanded max canvas size (Illustrator, 24.2 and forward). The increased canvas size is wonderful, however as someone who will move to-scale sketches from Illustrator into a 3D modeling program, not having DXF/DWG exports at the new max size makes the use of the new canvas size somewhat limited.

  2. Improved Artboard management

    For a long time I have been creating presentations in Adobe InDesign, however I have recently moved to creating presentations in Illustrator because of the greater flexibility with page layout.

    In Illustrator you’re able to create a presentation for example 5x5 1920x1080, zoom out and see all the artboards. This is really good to zoom out and see everything at a glance.

    The issues comes when you want to add and manage artboards. If I select the second artboard and add an artboard, it places it at the end of the presentation or the current row, in order to set…

  3. Alternative 'Object width/height' and gap options under Effect > Transform > Move

    A couple of checkboxes in that panel for the dynamic size of the object could be handy. A gap value would also be great for the static gaps around multiplied objects. I've experienced 2 similar cases where that option could save me time:

    1) Create an object and use 'Effect > Transform' panel to create copies, giving a horizontal or vertical move value. Then edit the object and change its bounding box. They either overlap or the gap between them widens.

  4. Allow tools to be constrained when using Perspective Grid with a key held

    I would like perspective grid snapping for either the brush and/or the pen tool.
    Although shapes can snap to perspective this is difficult to line up intersections and feels unintuitive to those of us used to lining up a ruler on pencil and paper.
    In my mind the snapping would work similar to holding down Shift to snap to 45 degree direction, but instead when you hold down which ever buttons enable the perspective snapping, the drawing tool moves in the perspective direction closest to how you move the cursor.

  5. pencil tool - enable keep selection shortcut

    A shortcut to enable or disable "keep selection" for the pencil tool. Now it is quite laborious to open each time the tool option window and check "keep selection".

  6. Stretching objects

    A stretch function allows to e.g. move a door in a wall. The door is moved, one wall is enlarged and the other wall is shortened. This is done by drawing a box through the walls and around the door, and then by moving the selection. Object that are completely within the selection are moved. Object that cross the selection box are stretched.

  8. Make "Transform" in top toolbar show measurments without a click

    I wish Illustrator would show the dimensions of a selected object in the toolbar, like InDesign. Currently, I need to click on "toolbar" to make changes. It would be great if this didn't require an extra click. InDesign's toolbar is far more accessible.

  9. Type on a Path Options

    Type on a Path needs significant improvements.

    • The Preview button should be sticky and the default position should be on.
    • There need to be more alignment options including Cap Height and x Height.
    • The options should be a panel not a dialogue.
    • The options should be included in a style, perhaps by adding InDesign like object styles.
    • The margins added when a path is converted to a type path should always start out at the ends of the path, not some arbitrary points along the path.

  10. Scaling Arrowheads Maintains Original Stroke Width

    Is it possible to add an option in the Stroke panel which allows scaling of the arrowheads and start and end shapes (like Circle, Square, SimpleWide, Simple, ettc.) without scaling their stroke width?

    Now the stroke width of the arrow or shape is increased or decreased when scaling. Please see attached images. Often times I would like to use a bigger arrowhead or shape but I have to create hem manually as scaling up results the arrowhead becoming a wider stroke than the stroke itself.

    For instance - a 2 point stroke with a SimpleWide arrowhead results in the arrowhead…

  11. Auto back up does not work and it should. Everything is set correctly and I use Jing - however it's set as once an hour for a back up

    File back up for crashes needs to work as per the settings. If it set to back up every 2 mins - then where are the files? They don't seem to exist - not like In Design where my last file is brought back.

  12. Add a floating info box for Color Picker and Guides

    When dragging a guide from the ruler, a floating info box with the coordinates would be very helpful.

    Same for the color picker - a floating color value box, in addition the Info panel that can be hidden when the tool is active.

  13. Added a slug area in document setup

    In InDesign's document setup, there are Slug settings in addition to Bleed.

    There is no a slug area in Illustrator. As a result, users are stacking another large artboard underneath the artboard as an alternative to a slug area. This situation should be remedied by adding Slug settings.

  14. Option + Delete to erase whole words

    To speed up deleting words, I wish Illustrator has an option to delete whole words using the both delete keys (num keyboard).

  15. Allow layers with "print" unchecked to also not render in "output for screens".

    Basically, just like the title says. When the "Print" box in a layer's properties is unchecked, that layer will not be printed (or, when exporting, it won't be used in the export).

    I'd like this behavior to be continued in export for screens. That way, you can set up layers for overlays and guides but not have to manually hide them before export.

    F/E, here's an overlay on a FB mobile sized coverpage; I'd like the blue box etc (on their own non-print layer called "overlays") to be gone on export so that when I export, all that the resulting…

  16. Artboard Textures

    Textured artboard choice, ie canvas, wood, concrete, liquid etc.
    When new drawings happen all the work reacts according to the artboard type, ie lineworks degrade if on a canvas texture. I know this can be simulated afterwards but the linework or colour fills don’t degrade accurately, it’s more a superimposition.
    I also realise this would take an awful lot of computing power!

  17. Access to sub-layers has disappeared.

    Not sure if this is happening to everyone, but the arrows to access my sublayers have gone missing... and the ability to GET to my sublayers went with.

    I have updated, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted... and it persists.

    Thoughts?

  18. Customizing any toolbar by right click on any empty space on it

    customizing any toolbar by right-clicking in an empty space as well as the three dots underneath any toolbar.
    Illustrator becomes popular for developers around the world and every day there is a new plugin to enhance working in Illustrator. but in some small resolution PC / Laptops when some plugins add new tools the toolbar becomes very tall and could not reach the (customize this toolbar) the three dots that arrange and customizing my tools.

    When adding objects to Asset Export, there should be an option to name the assets after the layer they're on. This would be particularly helpful when there are a large number of assets.

  20. The order of the Undo history after executing the script is incorrect.

    I checked with macOS X Mojave, Illustrator24.3, and Yosemite, Illustrator CS6.

    Below is a sculpt to create a new document, create a rectangle, select and copy, paste and cut. Try it first.

    After execution, the user can undo it.
    The final process is "cut", but what appears in the menu is "undo paste".
