  1. Gradient Tools Lack Customizability

    For a $20/month program, it's really frustrating that I've tested it's limited capabilities multiple times.
    1. Radial gradient: Should have the option to be deformed to shape. For instance, if I wanted a butterfly shaped radial gradient, the radial gradient should be able to act more like a proportional subdivision.   2. Add color to toolbar icons.

    The new 'Objects on a Path' tool has brought color to the toolbar. It now stands out a lot.

    I have a bunch of plugins that add tools to the toolbar, and have a bunch of cryptic monochromatic icons. Perhaps it is time for both Adobe and plugin developers to bring some color to the toolbar so we have one more thing to help us remember which extremely specialized tool we use once in a blue moon is which?

  3. Double-click with Direct Selection to enter Isolation mode.

    You can only enter Isolation mode by double-clicking with the Selection tool. Why doesn't the Direct Selection tool work for this? Or the Group Selection tool, for that matter? Was there ever even an explicit design decision made that only the Selection tool should be able to do this?

    I do the vast majority of my selecting with the Direct Selection tool, and about 50% of the time when I want to isolate something I just try double-clicking on it with the arrow-shaped tool I'm currently using, and grumble because it doesn't work, and hit the hotkey for the unloved…

  4. Allow more modeling options for 3D extrusions

    Give us more extrusion options. It's crazy that you can make a cylinder, but no possible way to make cuts through. I have attached examples to where I made the type of structure I'd need in Blender. In AI you can create a cylinder but no way to make holes through the structure. You can do this with an extruded rectangle but not cylindrical objects.

  5. Display color values for named swatches when hovering

    Illustrator automatically names swatches by their color values and displays these names when we hover over swatches in panels.
    But if we rename a swatch, Illustrator displays just the name, but not the color formula.
    InDesign does the opposite — always shows the color values when we hover, but not the name.

    I’d like to see both. Yes, I know that for the automatically named swatches it’d mean both the name made of values will be displayed along with the actual values... but you can solve it with the InDesign’s 'Name with Color Value' option for swatches.

  6. Make it possible to select objects using a path.

    It would be very useful to be able select individual objects in a document using a path which touches each of those objects or lies entirely within the path, or both, with each option being selectable by the user.

  7. Bigger variety of basic finishes for 3D materials: high gloss, matte, shiny metallic, matte, etc.

    Would be great to have better material adjustment tools — the 'metallic' slider doesn't really do very much except make the colour dull, would love to make it super vibrant metallic finish. A lot of the materials in Substance don't allow colour editing or more than one colour so this makes it really limited. Would love to achieve a bigger variety of basic finishes e.g. high gloss, matte, shiny metallic or matte.

    Would also love to have more extrusion options, it's crazy that you can make a cylinder but no possible way to make cuts through. I don't want to…

  9. Allow to exclude handles from being snapped to grid

    I remember it being a bug, when handles were not snapping to grid... but sometimes it’s actually useful! Currently we have to undo, disable the grid, and tweak the handle.
    There should either be a hard option we can toggle (preferably with an ability to assign it to a hotkey), or a hotkey to toggle this behavior on the fly, the one we can tap while dragging and disable snapping for this operation only... or both!

  10. Introduce a tolerance for Snap to Grid / Pixel, so that snapping happens only when points are close enough to grid intersections

    When Snap to Grid is enabled, the snapping is hard — a dragged point is always constrained to the grid intersections. While sometimes it’s handy, at other times is just too rigid, especially if you zoom in and try to make tiny adjustments. Paired with the fact we can’t toggle snapping temporarily on the fly, this makes it into 'try, curse, undo, disable, try again' routine. Same applies to Snap to Pixel.

    Compare how Affinity Designer handles it (the turquoise GIF) with the way Ai uses (the orange GIF).

  11. Disable geometry size limit for corner widgets

    It seems like there is a hard limit on the object size for corner widgets.
    Take a look at the GIF:
    when my shape is 1.42 px tall — I can see the widgets,
    but if I make it 1.41 px — widgets vanish... and it doesn’t matter if I zoom in, they won’t appear!
    It makes it very inconvenient when designing pixel art, icons, small things... This should be screen-based, not geometry-capped!

  12. No puedo cambiar el tamaño de los objetos

    Desde hace unos meses que no he sido capaz de volver a utilizar illustrator porque NO ME DEJA CAMBIAR EL TAMAÑO DE LOS OBJETOS/ELEMENTOS. Esto quiere decir que para mi caso, la palicación se ha vuelto inútil. Supongo yo que es un bug de mi programa pero inlcuso desinstalando y volviendo a instalar. No funciona. Esto es muy frustrante y he tenido que migrar a otras aplicaciones de diseño, y francamente lo odio. Alguien me puede ayudar por Dios??? Eso es DESESPERANTE.

  13. Allow to set text format for CMYK values and other data in Swatch Info objects

    The data for CMYK values in cards inside of Swatch Info is formatted with commas.
    I’d like to have the ability to customize it: spaces, hyphens, as C100 M50 Y0 K0, etc.

  14. Allow to use custom user templates for Swatch Info objects

    Swatch Info is OK (if completed!), but there is not enough customization currently.
    Take a look what an awesome ColorList script by Katja Bjerrum offers: https://productivista.com/make-a-list-of-colors-from-your-selection/ — we can set our own shapes before making a color legend.
    We could have done it semi-automatically after creating a Swatch Info, with Global Edit, to replace all chips with a custom shape... but for some reason these rectangles are immune to Global Edit (as it often happens, new features get loosely integrated with existing functions...)

  15. Layout for Swatch Info should allow to set grid, not only a row or a column

    Creation dialog for Swatch Info object currently allows to choose between having it as a row or a column... great, when you have 5. Not great if there are 20 — it’s either a stupid long row, or a stupid tall column.
    Add another value there to wrap these, to form a grid!
    Make sure you also allow to set the layout order properly, like the Rearrange All Artboards dialog uses (RTL is a thing).

  16. Allow to quickly enable or disable all Text Options for cards in Swatch Info objects

    Text cards for Swatch Info objects can have a lot of items displayed.
    I found that I either need all of these or none often. The only way to choose between these two major modes is to patiently toggle each one manually.
    ...meanwhile in Asset Export we can easily choose to use All or No Artboards with dedicated buttons. Perhaps there should be a way to do the same thing here?
    It should be allowed both when creating and when editing a Swatch Info object.

  17. Allow to actually drag-n-drop swatches on canvas to create a Swatch Info object

    Please allow to create these with the actual drag-n-drop!
    Make it so we can hold a modifier key while doing this to have a dialog (and do it silently by default instead).
    Allow to add dragged swatches into the existing Swatch Info objects, highlight the exact positions these are going to be added, on canvas.

  18. Allow to create Swatch Info object using a hotkey

    Currently to create a Swatch Info object you need to dive into the Swatches panel’s flyout menu and locate a command. We need a way to assign a hotkey to this.

  19. Auto-Eyedropper when hovering over Swatches Info objects

    Please make possible to make the current tool automatically change to Eyedropper when you hover over the coloured squares in Swatches Info objects. Essentially this makes them function just like a swatch in the toolbar.

    I usually lock the Swatch Info Layer immediately so the swatches don't get included when dragging to select multiple objects. It might be useful to tie the automatic eyedropper tool change to the lock status of the layer, so you still get the expected behaviour when the layer is unlocked, but when it's locked you get the eyedropper when you hover over the swatches.

  20. Better control over position of symbol in mapped classic 3d art

    When placing symbols for image maps in the classic 3D palette, I'd like to have more control over the position of the symbol to be mapped.

    Example: I'm using this function for mockups of labels on bottles. There are a number of bottles, each a different flavor, let's say 4. (The bottles are placed images.) I create a cylinder sized to the bottle image's label area, and map a label symbol to the cylinder for each flavor. The labels need to be in the same place on each cylinder, both size and position.
