  1. Add total artboard counter when exporting

When I export my artboards (with 'Export as'), AI sometimes won't show whole range numbers, but stick to previously entered numbers for this file. This is fine.

But my problem is I often need to export all artboards, but not first. And I don't remember exactly how much of them I do actually have — this differs from project to project.
So I have to exit 'Export as' dialogue, go to Artboards palette, see how much artboards are there and return to exporting.

Why not to show how much artboards I do have inside dialogue window?
    Please…

  3. Asset Export: Name assets after the layer they're on

When adding objects to Asset Export, there should be an option to name the assets after the layer they're on. This would be particularly helpful when there are a large number of assets.

  4. The new "Export for Screens" would be more useful if I could enter other formats, in particular, GIF.

  5. Add DXF/DWG Export To Increased Canvas Size In Illustrator 24.2 (and later)

Would it be possible to add DXF/DWG as an export option for the new expanded max canvas size (Illustrator, 24.2 and forward). The increased canvas size is wonderful, however as someone who will move to-scale sketches from Illustrator into a 3D modeling program, not having DXF/DWG exports at the new max size makes the use of the new canvas size somewhat limited.

  6. Export Color Codes for all colors in a file

I often have to put together style guides and have to manually (literally by hand) write down each color's codes for CMYK, RGB and HEX from Illustrator down onto a sheet of paper and then type those into the InDesign file for the style guide's color section.

It would be super helpful to be able to export a report for all of the colors used in a file and be able to see the RGB/HEX codes and the CMYK codes for each (depending on what the document color mode is set to)

    Example:
    Color 1:
    CMYK 100, 100, 100, 100…

  7. Export to SVG, export page knockout groups.

Page knockout groups seem to be ignored when exporting to SVG. You can manually change the knockouts to cutouts, for example using pathfinder divide and deleting the unwanted parts, but would be nice if you didn't need to.

  8. Please allow "ACTIONS" menu to record the SCALE in EXPORT SCREENS dialog for Artboards

Please allow "ACTIONS" menu to record the SCALE in the EXPORT SCREENS dialog for Artboards. I'd love to be able to record ALL the frequent filetypes and associated sizes for each asset and deliver an ACTION to my entire TEAM that makes this efficient for our everyday usage.

  9. Fix Lines in Pattern designs when saved via Export for Screens.

When I export designs (via Export for screens) with patterns that have either been expanded or not I find that I get verticle and horizontal lines in my pattern. This is not present in the app, only on the resulting PDF/JPG/PNG exported file. I found this doesn't not happen when using the legacy Save for Web option. This is not an AA issue. Both are set to art optimized and the results are very different.

  10. ( Export for Screens ) more file format support

Add more file formats + CMYK ability to export for screens.

Here's an example for a customer that wants multiple logos with multiple taglines for multiple usecases. (check attachment)

Am i supposed to manually generate 200 files in the future?

    More formats gogogogogo

  11. Export for screens missing slice selection feature from Save for Web

Export for Screens seems to be missing a few things to be able to replace Save for Web (Legacy), which is a strong limitation since Export for screens have features Save for web doesn't: Support for exporting multiple scales / resolutions , which is a must in 2022 with responsive images on the web.

One area it is lacking in is support for slices (by priority):
    1. Be able to export only a selected slice
    2. Be able to split up export for screens based on slices

  12. Export multiple artboards with 'Save for web'

It would be very useful and a huge time-saver to have the option to export multiple artboards with 'Save for web'. Currently you can only do 1 artboard at a time, and if you have a lot of artboards to export then it gets old real fast and takes up valuable time.

Auto-populating the file name would be amazing too. When you do a regular export, it exports the files with what you named each artboard. But when you do 'Save for Web', you have to enter the file name each time.

  13. Assets Export - Good but could be better

The assets exporter is a good idea but:
1 - As name it takes the top-layer/group name. I have everything sorted in groups and what I need is in the 3rd level, thats the name and the layers I want to export as an assets, but is imposible right now.

2- Why it works only dragging from the canvas? It would be SO good if we could drag them from the Layer tab, more handy.

3- Why the asset preview hide if you hide the layer/group? Makes no sense and makes it more confusing.

    Those are so common sense…

  14. Export artboards with the correct sequential order

I am creating multiple page presentations and often I have to insert or move artboards. When I export the artboards to JPG or PNG they are named after their original artboard number which creates a lot of extra work for me.

Illustrator uses the actual order of artboards in the Artboards panel for numbering, not the one you have on canvas (because artboards can be used not only as pages, but viewports, intersect and contain each other). To get the order you need, you should re-arrange the list manually in the panel.

There is also a request for automating the matching inverted process: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/44105052-rearrange-artboards-on-canvas-accordingly-to-their

  15. Illustrator cannot export as targa (TGA) as individual artboards and with transparent backgrounds

I would love to be able to export individual artboards as targa files with a transparent background.

  16. Adobe have to improve the SVG exportation tool

Adobe have to improve the SVG tool, because we need to create new document to be able export SVG CODE directly from Illustrator file...
Will be better, if we colect files to export, and on this function, be able to export not just SVG file, but also the SVG code, to use diretly on CSS and HTML.
Will be a great help to web designers.
    Cumpz :)

  17. Asset Export - Make Collection of File Settings

When using the Asset Export feature – it would be nice to have collections of different formats and sizing. For a number of projects there are repeatable file formats that are needed.

Allow the user to define these collections (not unlike creating and setting workspaces).

One might need a collection that has only SVG and PDF, another collection could only be PNG (1x, 2x and 4x). And yet another might need SVG, JPG and PNG, there are so many different ways to work and exports that people need.

It would be nice to repeat the Asset Export groupings as…

  18. Export for screens missing modern features in order to be useful for responsive images on the web in 2022

It's 2022 and responsive images on the web are well supported across all browsers.

Export for Screens is close to being a good tool for this, but missing out on a few smaller but critical needs for modern responsive web (by priority):
    1. Customize ppi in combination with width / height / scale Formats exports
    2. Support for moderne formats: webp, avif and near future jpegXL

And not really a export only feature, but:
    3. Be able to override antialiasing export settings per layer so text and artwork can be applied different antialiasing during export

    Note: Typical answer to…

  19. Variable Data, Batch Save and Export should be able to grab filenames from CSV.

When exporting variable data with a batch save/export command, instead of being limited to File + Number, File + Data Set Name, Data Set Name, there should be an option to grab from a variable within the data. If your variable is named '$Filename', then it recognizes that column as the filename.

  20. Automated/AI-powered file names in Asset Export

Asset Export needs more options to automate and/or use variables. Designers often need to export large groups of files (e.g. variations of a logo in multiple colours and sizes, with/without a claim or other element) which then have to be tediously and manually renamed and sorted to reflect things like size, color.
It would be great if there were more option to automate the output by adding variables such as dimensions custom text fields, names of swatches used, etc This could even be an area where the use of AI might be useful to automatically detect the content and create…
