Can we please move the "Close all" button away from the "Save" button in the "FILE" dropdown menu
Maybe move the "Close" and "Close all" buttons to the bottom of the "FILE" dropdown menu, instead of having them sit so close to the "Save" and "Save as" buttons.
I have accidently closed various projects because of this.

Give as a choice when pasting something that uses an existing definition in the current document
When pasting art with different definitions for an existing style name, users should be given a choice to apply the document style to the pasted text, redefine the document style based on the pasted text, or just ignore it (as it does now).
It applies to text styles and graphic styles.
Today, example given, if I paste an artwork that uses 'My Style' from document A into document B that already has 'My Style' defined, Ai would just make it into 'My Style 2', silently. Thanks to Rick Johnson for raising this up.

Library Colour Palettes – Standardise Across InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
Standardise the following across applications and when adding to swatches:
- Retain 'Global'
 - Retain colour name
 - Retain grouping
 - Retain order in group
 - Retain group name
 - Allow adding group
 - As in InDesign, allow deleting swatch and replacing with another (i.e., delete RGB and replace with CMYK)

When opening a file with missing links and fonts, add an option to the warning dialog to...
Place the image rather than trying to open it natively/embedded. In my screenshot here the idea is you could choose to Cancel, open a new document and Place in new document, as those are always my next steps when this issue arises.

Make it possible to edit user defined swatch libraries
For some reason, once a custom swatch library is defined, we can't edit it. An icon showing a pencil with a line through it indicates that. But why can't we make the swatch library editable (temporarily), e.,g. by alt-clicking the icon, or right mouse button it?
This is so rigid and inconvenient.
Also make it possible to save a swatch group as a new library, in stead of saving all in a newly created library. It's quite impossible to create a library from a subset of swatches currently.

Please Return to PATH OFFSET IN OBJECT menu (from Path submenu) with custom commands
I'd like to have the "Offset Path" command back in the OBJECT > PATH section, with the option to assign a custom command via "Keyboard Shortcuts" as before the last Illustrator update.
I need to actually see and obtain the path, not through a visual effect.Problem:
In the drop-down menu in OBJECT > PATH, the OFFSET PATH and TRACE OUTLINE options are there and work, BUT THEY ARE NOT PRESENT in the shortcut database, so a custom command cannot be added.I use paths in all their features, so I absolutely needs to have the right commands for productivity as before.

Proper UI for text box conversions between auto-width, auto-height, and fixed-height
The current way to convert text boxes feels very cumbersome. There really should be a 3 item toggle (properties panel?) for quick conversions to:
Single height
Fixed height
Auto heightAnd there shouldn't be an overset text penalty if converting to single height.

Option to have AI prompt me instead of me promptng AI
A feature set we need is for Adobe to allow natural language descriptions for automating process steps and allow AI to suggest alternative methods or workflow where possible and allow training-on-the-fly for how-to steps based upon stylistic and other choices I make when prompted with options by AI iteratively.
This would bring the power of AI to a “train me, don’t show me” type of assistance where AI suggests steps, tools, and options that I might use to create the effects or results I am envisioning. One great beauty in this is that I am learning how to do things myself in Adobe products, including spanning apps in a workflow process. Thus, I will not become hobbled over time as AI takes over tasks, and instead of me prompting AI, it prompts me (with suggestions of steps for how to get something done).
I would also like the ability to narrow the scope of options stylistically or otherwise, and to preview the how-to steps in a walk-through tutorial of sorts where I might even use production art from a real project of mine.An example of my input to a feature set like that might be in phrasing such as, "In a neo-Byzantine style which is modified to depict healing energy exchanges in bas-relief, create a series of stylistically and thematically consistent vector images to be included in a video segment that shows imminent and already occurring moments of spiritual transformation inside a singularity sphere with 6 Einstein-Rosen Bridges having their bipolar event horizons mapped equidistantly on the sphere's surface, and those bridges intersecting at the center of the sphere, instantiating a singularity of healing love radiating out of each end of all the bridges as the sphere spins on alternating axes like a multidimensional pulsar of love and grace"

Make it possible to have NO active Artboard
I often take screenshots of my work within Illustrator for Proofing purposes and more.. but when doing this I'm often stuck with the dark outline of the active artboard mixed in with multiple other images that do not have the dark artboard line. yes, often times I can simply hide artboards and get what I need, but other times what I'm looking for is only within my Trim view. So even when I go into Trim view and try to hide artboards to remove this dark outline, it does not. I recently learned that toggling to overprint fill turns the background white instead of gray, which is nice, but the active artboard line is still there. So, my first thought was to allow no active artboard to be possible. this could be done within the Artboard window, by clicking in the empty space beneath the artboard list (which currently looks like it does this, yet the Artboard still remains active (dark border).

29.7.1 macOS - PDF Export- Critical Parser failure: Unknown character in content stream
In the macOS version of Adobe Illustrator 29.7.1, there is indeed a critical bug. When exporting files containing a large amount of text that has been converted to outlines, the resulting PDF file becomes corrupted.
To verify the issue, please follow the steps below using the attached file:
1. Launch Adobe Illustrator on macOS (I use Sequoia 15.6)
2. Open the attached .ai file
3. Export the file as a PDF using the “High Quality Print” presetResult: The exported PDF will appear corrupted, just like the attached example. Furthermore, when attempting to open the PDF in Acrobat Pro, the following error is displayed:
Critical Parser failure: Unknown character in content stream. This issue does not occur on the Windows version of Illustrator. Could one of you confirm this bug? If this is indeed a reproducible problem, the development team should fix it as soon as possible.

Confusing migration confirmation dialogue box
Please fix the confusing migration confirmation dialogue box (popup), which is is needlessly unclear and needs revision. It asks a yes-or-no type question and provides a very clear negative option for a response. However, it provides two options for a positive response (I think), but which are bewildering. Each button just shows a version identifier: 29.7.2, 29.7.1, etc. Is this the new version and the version I was using last? Is this two versions where settings were detected? What version am I using when I see this? (Hmmm. I don't know. I can't check without answering first.) What happens when I select either version?

Scale hidden objects within a group.
Objects in a group that are hidden should scale along with the rest of the group, like they do in Photoshop. (Or it should at least be an option alongside the "scale strokes & effects" option.)
It makes absolutely no sense for them to be left behind.
Construction lines & other elements that form part of a build (but are usually hidden) cannot always be grouped separately in order to make their management easier. Sometimes there are many, many elements interspersed amongst a build that need to remain there but to have them switched on can make scaling & positioning something like a logo incredibly difficult & time consuming.
There are workarounds, of course, but that's not a solution, it's a temporary fix. Side-step the mess & you've worked around it but look behind you & the mess is still there, ready for the next person to step in.

Portability or cross-device synchronization of Illustrator workspace organization.
Portability or cross-device synchronization of Illustrator workspace organization.
I have a standard way of working and organizing windows, icons, and other tools in the Illustrator workspace, and I'd like these settings to be synchronized across my devices, given that I work on my laptop and desktop in different locations at different times of the day.

Merge some features of Color window into Swatches window
I've always wished the "Color" window and "Swatches" were sort of merged... I wont' bother explaining why its useful to keep the Swatches window open, as i have to assume everybody is constantly using this. I toggle over to the Color window when i'm viewing the color name and swapping the color/fill. In the latest update of Illustrator, they've updated Swatches to include a stroke and fill selector (as well as a list of recent colors, which is pretty cool). they've not however included the swapping arrow, display name of color, or that little default fill selection. can we please just add this little section to the top of swatches and i can pretty much be done with the Color window! I've attached a doctored example of what it might look like.

Fill/Outline Color Palettes
My suggestion is to add an option of separate color palette view for the fill and outline color control menus.
When I select a shape to view or to spec its color fill or outline, it shows the RGB/CMYK slider menu for one but not the other.
I then have to select the opposite to view or spec its color or to no color. I would like to have the option of viewing the color slider menus that shows fill and outline color simultaneously. This would speed up creating and be more efficient to me. Thank you.1 vote -
Asset/Object export needs more options
I wanted to export multiple assets/objects with their artboard position and quickly realized they will get cropped and there isn't an option to change that.
The possible naming is also quite limited. Every professional program should have wildcards for naming files.
It boils down to missing batch features. I found a developer who gave it a try once (TomByrne IllustratorSmartExport). That's everything the batch export could and should be and it should be an official inspiration for how the export in Illustrator should look/feel like. Unfortunately it's not longer under development and the core functionality is broken.
