Constrain (shift key) doesn't work with Smart Guides turned on
When smart guides are on none of the constrain features (holding down shift) work properly, whether it's rotating, reflecting, etc. It just sort of jumps back to one position, often the original position, and won't move. The little magenta text that lets you know the angle etc. also goes a little crazy and looks like it's trying to display a few different words on top of each other.

"Apply to all" Option not functioning on Missing linked image error dialog box
Illustrator Version 23.0.1
PC Computer
OS Version: Windows 10 Home 1803
OS Build 17134.523
Processor Type: Intel Core i7-7700 3.60 GHz
RAM: 32.0 GBIssue:
When opening an previous Illustrator file with linked image files, an error dialog appears when the linked image files are not located in the previous location. An OPTION BOX of "Apply to All" is on the dialog box next to the "Replace" button. This option box is NOT FUNCTIONING.
To repeat the issue:
Create illustrator file> Link multiple image files into file> Rename location where image files are kept> Go back to illustrator> Receive error…

Rotate Tool flickering objects under transform
- 22.0.1 (OSX 10.13.1)
- Drawing some element (dosen't matter what), selecting the rotate-tool, trying to rotate the element while holding shift.
- being able to rotate in fixed angles.
- flickering element, no control over rotation (see video)

Select Same Stroke Color doesn't work in isolated Live Paint group
When you make Live Paint group out of differently colored strokes and then you want to select only e.g. red strokes, while isolated, then Select Same commands are grayed out.
3 votesSeems to be fixed in later versions.
Select Same commands now are not disabled and work correctly for selected Live Paint regions, when isolated or not.

Random text passages appearing after creating a text box
- Adobe Illustrator off of Adobe CC
- Selected the Text Tool, drew a text box, random text passage appeared immediately with no reason.
- I expected just a text box to appear
- I received a passage of Latin with no clue as to how that could happen
- I've attached a snapshot
Please help as I don't fully know if this is a bug or a feature that I have to edit.
3 votesIt is called 'Placeholder text' feature and you can disable this in Preferences > Type: Fill New Type Object With Placeholder Text.

If you have this version or higher but still experience crashes when clicking Swatch Options button in Swatches — please make a new bug report.

ROTATE-OPTIONS not ACTIVE. Pls advise...
Ventura (macOS 13.7.1): Options TRANSFORM OBJECTS and TRANSFORM PATTERNS are NOT ACTIVE in ROTATE. Any advise?
1 voteThese options are active only when a fill or a stroke of the selected object has a pattern applied.

There are many marks appearing in the contour mode
There are many markers in the outline mode of the document, but these markers are not displayed in "GPU mode" and "CPU mode", and cannot be selected. When copying the canvas to a new document, it prompts "Beyond Canvas".
1 voteThese are stray points inside of one or many clip masks.
To remove them, use Object > Path > Clean Up: check Stray Points.

Expanding a 3D extruded object with a stroke as a wireframe produces doubled lines
Getting a double line like this. Please fix this soon.
1 voteIf an object has a strokes, these will be treated as outlined when applying 3D. Having a thicker stroke with a non-black color helps to see the root of the confusion — please refer to the image in comments.

Hard to select text, have to click baseline exactly
Finding it really difficult to select text for some reason. It's driving me mad. It seems the only way is either to drag over it or mouse click the exact baseline of the type.

Seit dem letzten Update werden die Intelligenten Hilfslinien nicht mehr angezeigt. Bei Voreinstellung sind sie aktiviert und die Hilfslinien wurden ebenfalls eingeblendet.

Also, these won’t show up if Snap to Grid in the same menu option is enabled.

Illustrator gives error message only with this file
I am in Windows and I receive this message when I open my document please I hope I can be helped with this incident that I cannot solve

Copy/paste PathText not accurate
When a text on a path is copied / pasted in place, the texts positions are changed.

Improper Dimension with Stroke (width and Height) - Illustrator 2019
Everytime I apply stroke to the object, I adds it to the overall height and width. Which makes my workflow worst. It shouldn't add the stroke not until I expand the apperance/object. Or maybe if you guys could add an option/button/switch to weather we want Ai to add the stroke to the overall dimension or not.Would really appreciate your immediate response.

1 voteThere is an option in Illustrator to control this behavior, located in Preferences > General : Use Preview Bounds.

When it’s enabled, Illustrator add the visual outline of the stroke to the bounds of the object, treating them together. When it is disabled, only the geometric bounds of the shape are used.

Kerning one pair effects the spacing of other random pairs.
I'm having an issue when I go to kern a letter pair, the kerning effects the spacing between other pairs.
I believe this similar bug was reported for CS5 but I am using CC 2018 22.0.1

I have tried:
- Clearing all Illustrator settings at startup.
- Making sure text is not centered or justified
- Using default font Myriad Pro with default settings.
- Selecting all letters and zeroing out the kerning.
- Turning off standard ligatures in Open Type
Still this issue persists.

1 voteIt's not a bug, it's about hinting.
When you change kerning it forces other letters to nudge a bit. And because AI (as any other tool) already nudges all letters on screen before drawing them to make outlines look clear on screen grid, this results visual nudge of those letters who happen to fall on other side of their previous position.
Try to apply Outline Effect to this text and then kern. This will negate hinting.

Weird Square I Can't Get Rid Of
I have this weird square on one of my files (top right panel). It's not connected to any of my layers, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.
0 votesAs per the top comment, this is a second artboard, that was probably created by mistake, using Artboard Tool. To resolve it, you can use this tool to select and delete it, or do it directly from the Artboards panel.
