Type on path positioning is now quantized and not smooth
Take a look at the GIF.
In Illustrator 2022 users were able to position start and end marker brackets with practically infinite precision, smoothly, even for a long, single-bezier path.
In 2023 these markers are quantized to 0.005 increments! For a long, single-bezier path, this creates laughably large steps (like, almost the width of an entire glyph).
Note that the quantization is per bezier segment, so if you put text on a path that has many anchor points, it won't be as noticeable. But adding loads of points to a path makes it much less editable later, of course, so it's hardly a workaround.
This change breaks some scripts and plugins the community developed to gap the holes in Illustrator functionality...
I doubt this can be unintentional, really.
I wonder why it was made, what problems was it supposed to solve and can we revert it back.

This problem was somewhat fixed, but now there is another problem with text being rendered wrong or lagging while repositioning along path. If you have a similar one, upvote it here or report a different one, please.
