I'm hoping that Adobe will update the ENTIRE UI for SVG filters. Possibly a new software addition to the suite? Creating graphics that export from Adobe Illustrator to SVG for responsive web design won't work since I need to know how to edit the filters in code in order to change basic styling such as color, transparency, x:y ratios etc. Even the default SVG filters bitmap. I'm looking into working with Inkscape which is native to SVG since years later, this is still not fixed.
I also can't use the Adobe Stock Illustrations subscription artwork since the artwork effects that use basic filters like blurs, blends, drop shadows, etc all rasterize when exporting to SVG. That means that Adobe Stock illustrations cannot be used for responsive development unless I rebuild in Adobe XD.
The inner shadows update in XD helped but does not satisfy the overarching problem of SVG filter editing within Illustrator. I'm getting really frustrated since this has largely affected our workflow with the developers. The effects we're trying to achieve are available in other programs like Inkscape and Figma. Please, address this soon.
I work on Apple iMac, Big Sur 11.6 (upgrade tonight) and am current in Adobe CC. As an Adobe user for 2+ decades, I'm loyal up to a point. Thanks in advance for your response.
