image trace quick action does nothing...
I opened a transparent PNG file in Illustrator, hoping to do a simple quick vector conversion, when I pressed the "Image Trace" button in the Quick Actions menu, in the properties toolbar, I got precisely bubcuss. Just nothing - no feedback, no error, no expected menu of options. Just nothing. The other quick actions don't seem to do anything at all either.

Same issue. I use image trace hundreds of times a day for my profession and the quick action at this point after the new update is just decorative.

I had this problem, but when I highlighted the image and clicked 'expand' under Object it worked and is now a vector with paths
Same. Image trace just doesn't work. I tried tracing a black and white simple shape and it just produces a white rectangle every time no matter which image trace method is selected.
Been trying to trace a ONE colour graphic shape from its background and Illustrator completely sucks. Tried a transparent png, a two color jpg and black and white jpg and no matter what combination of AI settings I try after manually opening the settings window, absolutely NOTHING happens, just leaves the image as it was. The initial "quick trace" another completely useless feature only results in converting the whole image to a white box. Very helpful Adobe. Totally useless feature and pathetic when it comes to Adobe. There's literally PHONE APPS that are almost doing this for their filters and **** but Adobe can't figure it out on a professional level? They make us update this software every two weeks but never seem to actually fix anything or make anything better. Running the new 2021 version of AI and this still doesn't work. A ******* joke Adobe has become.
That's one of the worst features of Illustrator. I just can't any result and there is no feedback at all. I had this working once, but can't remember how.
Any fix discovered? So annoying!!!
Same problem. Have a file where I opened a PNG i want to vectorize. I opened the image by just dragging it on to the artboard. Clicked the image, and then try some of the quick actions. They did nothing. Image trace did nothing, and non of the other actions seems to be working either.
I then deleted the image, and opened it again by "File-Place (Shift + Ctrl + P), and then it worked. Everything looked the same, but for some reasone it worked this time. Check if it does the trick!
Super frustration. Same issue, zero resolutions. This is a pretty important feature to break.
