Illustrator crashes on launch

Every time I start illustrator it crashes. Starting a second time USUALLY opens it but sometimes a third attempt is needed. It links me to a "fix" that requires uninstalling some third party chrome office plugin that I don't have...so a useless link to a prompt that will now pop-up every time I start illustrator.
I just upgraded to 26.0.1 in hopes this was fixed. It's not.
Lenovo P15 workstation laptop, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10850H CPU @ 2.70GHz, 96 gb of ram, Nvidia Quadro T2000, windows 10 pro. So no excuses about resources.
The fact that the report bug link takes me here and can't gather my system stats is also, for the record, utterly archaic. And I have to create a new user account separate from my creative cloud one? Seriously? What the ****, guys.

everything keeps glitching. when i go to pick a new tool it blacks out the screen then turns back on, then i have to wait until the tool picks it self, even though i already picked it several seconds ago. when i go to change from one document to the next, lets say to copy and paste to a separate file it does the same thing, blacks out the screen turns back on, takes forever to switch to the new file choices and then finally un glitches. its the worse lag bug i've ever seen.

I recently upgraded Illustrator and Bridge, etc. I am working on a document in 2020 Illustrator but when I go to the Bridge to place a file it opens up the 2019 version of Illustrator and places the file. It won't place it in the 2020 version.
