Black Swatch becomes CMYK when dragged to object
Black Swatch in color pallette (between none and white lower left corner) colour changes values to CMYK when dragged to object on page.

It is a CMYK document. See the difference in values between a single click on the black swatch versus dragging the same black swatch.

Can't replicate. Need more details: what color mode is used for the document, what color mode is chosen for the Color panel, what does the swatch has as values when you edit this, etc.
A video or clear steps would be great. -
