Activating fonts in Illustrator takes too long

The process of activating fonts in illustrator is taking way too long. Is there a way to make the process faster?

Raymond, I have the same problem on Windows 10... I have just a couple of hundreds of fonts now, and I am using SSD.
What are your specs?
