AiRobin hogging huge amounts of RAM (between 12GB and 16 GB) and at times slows the machine down.
I have turned off "background save / export" which is apparently the purpose of AiRobin. Nonetheless, it has continued to run for the couple of months since I turned those off. Today I had InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator open momentarily; I try to avoid that, but usually it's fine for 5 or 10 minutes. This time it wasn't, and I could literally do nothing (even move the mouse for the most part) for close to 15 minutes. I was finally able to pull up Activity Monitor and I ended the process for AiRobin. Immediately things improved. But sure enough, AiRobin popped back up in Activity Monitor and climbed its way from a few dozen MB to about 6GB in about 3 seconds, slowing everything down as before. I shut off Illustrator before it slowed down all the way, and. Immediately on closing Illustrator everything returned to normal speed (or close to it). It is rare that things get slowed down THIS much, but there is clearly something wrong with AiRobin if it's consistently taking up 12GB to 16GB of RAM, which it is anytime I have Illustrator open. I've just accepted that.
I'm on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015) High Sierra 10.13.6
Processor: 4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M395 2048 MB
Illustrator: 24.2.3
Note: even now when Illustrator is just barely initialized, and no documents are open, AiRobin shows it's taking up 15.7 GB of RAM, while Illustrator is taking up 586 MB. On my laptop (MacBook Pro), RAM for Illustrator (no documents open) is 625 MB and for AiRobin it's 119 MB. Never had the problem on that machine. Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue.
No documents open, AIRobin using 16,35GB memory.
Fresh restart of computer, uninstalled, then reinstalled AI. Previously I signed out of, then back into CC.
Its a mess. -

Update: I was on with Adobe support for weeks, and even was communicating with some pretty high-level tech support by the end. Eventually, if I recall, we simply pulled off ALL Adobe products and did a full wipe of everything Adobe. Apparently a simple uninstall / reinstall is not at all the same thing (?). Although I lost some preferences (despite trying to keep as many as possible), the high RAM usage for AiRobin seemed to go away after the fresh install. I still have weird problems that persist, but at least that one has been mitigated finally.

Same issue with AiRobin on 2020 3.8Ghz iMac with 96Gb RAM. For the moment I thought that the issue affected only PDF Compatible Ai files, since I tried to save it many times, but couldn't. And had to use SaveAs (with PDF Compatible unchecked) to speed up things - which in turn saved file immediately. But later I tried to reopen old PDF compatible Ai file, and tried to reproduce issue but couldn't.

This is getting more problematic as time goes on. I use Illustrator daily (for at least 20 years now) and have definitely noticed this problem only within the last year or so. Here is a screenshot of my computer, which I just had to restart because of Illustrator (which crashed moments ago). Once I restarted the machine, I re-initialized Illustrator hoping it would improve. It's better, but here's an image of the load on Memory. Could this be a preferences corruption? Something? None of my co-workers have this issue, and even my MacBook Pro doesn't seem to have the issue. (Note: the green areas are where Illustrator was NOT open, the red when it was).
