Color Theme Picker works with problems
After the Adobe Illustrator update (don't know if it was the last one in April 2021 or the previous one) Color Theme Picker in a new version of the Recolor Artwork tool stops working. Not only in my app but in the apps of at least 3 people - different OS, different computers. It just doesn't activate then you click the icon.
The solution was found but it was very strange - you need to open Adobe Illustrator not directly on your computer but through the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app. Then Color Theme Picker starts working. And continues to work if you reopen the app directly.
We've found this solution by chance, 3 people tried to do this and this fixed the issue. But maybe something can be done from the side of developers to avoid such problems in the future.

Dhiliban, can you please share a test file and a small video or a GIF recording, showing the steps you try to do with the file that lead to this behavior?
Also — which version are you using specifically and what OS? -

The color theme picker not working. When I clicked the option the eyedropper is not showing, instead when I click the image or palette I want to sample the recolor dialog box disappears!

The problem was on macOS Ai 26.0.1. This trick helped to run Picker.

I confirm. The launch-from-CCD method works, but it seems it has to be done once... after that I tried to launch the app using different methods (double-clicking the document, launching with a shortcut), and it continued to work.

The Theme Color Picker doesn’t work when...
In a document with artworks and images,1. Select artworks and click the Recolor icon, then go to Advanced Option.
2. Enable [Open Advance Recolor Artwork dialog on launch]
3. Quit Illustrator
4. Open Illustrator
5. Select artworks
6. Click the Recolor icon in Control Panel
7. Disable [Open Advance Recolor Artwork dialog on launch]
8. Close the Recolor Windows
9. With the Artworks still selected
10. Click the Recolor icon in Control Panel again
11. Click the Color Theme Picker
12. Click on an image in the documentResults: Nothing!
To make it works again, we need to close the illustrator application and reopen it.
This is in 2021 and also 2022.
