Illustrator holds on to DWG/DXF files until it quits

If a DWG/DXF file is opened, imported or even looked at by illustrator, then those files can't be moved, renamed, deleted or modified at all until illustrator is quit. Windows shows the error "Can't do 'x' because the file is still open in Illustrator.
Seems to be a 2020/2021 issue as 2019 doesn't do the bug.

    I don't believe Adobe knows how to fix this issue. I have been reporting it for several years now and even mentioning it in surveys that I have taken. They have yet to address this.

    Please fix this error. The problem still exists in Illustrator 2024 version 28.6

    Please fix this issue. The last version where this was not a problem was 25.0.1 and we will need this to work in 2023 when we can no longer download 2021. Thanks

    I find it pretty incredible that this hasn't been addressed yet. This has been a multi year problem.

    I don't work with dwg/dxf files too often, but I have just come across this bug while working on an engraving project. Very weird unintended behavior.

    Using version 26.1.

    Mantiene il file DXF aperto (in memoria) anche dopo averlo chiuso da Illustretor impedendo lo spostamento nelle directory del disco, fino a che non chiudo completamente Illustrator.

    salve , ho dovuto tornare alla versione 25.0.1 perchè la versione 25.1 ha grossi problemi con i file DXF , dopo averlo esportato bisogna chiudere illustrator altrimenti risulta sempre aperto , ha problemi nell'importazione dei DXF
