Cannot open AI or EPS files just exported from AI
I'm trying to export some vector files from AI, which I've done countless times before and had no problems...
Right now when I save the file as AI and EPS, it shows up in my saved folder as a blank file. When I open the properties from it's saved folder it still shows as AI, however I'm not able to open it with AI or any other applications.
I'm stumped and don't know what I can do next.

I was fortunately able to fix it...
I tried restarting the computer and it didn't help.But when I tried to manually search through my computer files for the Illustrator app I was able to set the "open with" manually to Illustrator. It just wasn't available when I was looking for it on the short list. I think it's probably something to do with the app updates.

What kind of message (if any) is shown by illustrator when you drag+drop the *.ai file into the illustrator interface? Is a different message (if any) received when you use file > open to try opening the same file?
It looks like your operating system file associations are wacky. See where it says "Opens with" and following that "Pick an app" ? Indication is that Windows doesn't know which program/application the file belongs to.
I don't recall offhand how to correct that without reinstalling the software, but I know we've had that issue here at my work regarding EPS files before, and it was fixed without uninstall/reinstall.
