Illustrator exporting to PDF - PDF misaligned (slightly rotated)

    Thanks Lance. I must have rotated something and not reset my settings. You can forget about this. I am just working too fast.

    Mark,

    I am unable to replicate the rotation behavior by opening the PDF in illustrator, discarding changes when prompted, then re-saving the PDF with the Illustrator default settings.

    Thx Lance. I open the PDF in Illustrator to make changes - and all the (outlined type) has no rotation. So I save the AI file separately and then save as back to a PDF for sharing with others - and the exported PDF is somehow rotated.

    Can you tell if your uncropped PDF from illustrator shows this odd rotation?

    I have been experimenting and haven't been able to replicate. I wondered if the cropping in acrobat had something to do with it, but there aren't any rotation options in the crop settings, and my cropped test files don't exhibit any rotation.

    Lance, that warning that the file has been modified outside of illustrator happens when I crop the exported PDF in Acrobat and save the file. If I happen to open that PDF in Illustrator, I get the same message.

    But nothing was rotated. But regardless, now I know what to look out for.

    There's something odd going on for sure. When I open your PDF in illustrator, I get a warning that the file has been modified outside of illustrator. The options are to discard changes (preserving Ai editing ability) or keep changes (discarding Ai editing ability).

    If I discard the changes, the logo and text are still correctly horizontal. If I keep changes, I still get the slightly rotated art.

    The ai file you have uploaded gives me no issues, but it has a much larger artboard than the uploaded PDF's viewable area.

    Are you certain the PDF you uploaded hasn't been edited elsewhere besides Illustrator?
