Swatch & Tool Names don't appear when I pause/hover the cursor over them.
MacOs Monterey 12.0.1
Adobe Illustrator 26.2.1
When you hover over a swatch or tool & leave the cursor there for a second, the name of the swatch/tool always showed along with keyboard shortcuts for many of the tools.
I was searching the Pantone colors & two colors came up. Rather than just one quick step, I had to do several.
What should happen:
I hover the cursor over the colors for a second to see which was which. Then I pick the one I was looking for.
What happens now:
I hover the cursor over the colors & nothing shows up. I had to click on the swatch, then open the color window & see which one it is.
For someone who uses Illustrator most of the day every day for work, this is really annoying & messes up my workflow. I'm also trying to explore & get used to the new version of Illustrator. Little stuff like this creates soooooooo much frustration.

Nah, it’s OK. Being in rage is a common condition we stay in while working with Illustrator, sadly. The fact I don’t see Rich Tooltips (for some unknown reason), but I also don’t get normal 'poor' tooltips, is a real bug, and you did right reporting it. Thanks!

Holy smokes Egor, I’m an idiot! I completely overlooked that point even after reading it twice. Thank you in that case. I need to slow down when enraged with technical issues that seem harder than they should be.

That is exactly what I offered you to do disable one comment ago :)
Glad it got resolved... but you are right, I don’t see Rich Tooltips when I enable them! Which means I don’t see normal tooltips as well.
This is odd. -

Just found out the issue. Must Turn OFF: SHOW RICH TOOL TIPS!!!!!! So ridiculous.

I can tell you that only Column Graph, Symbol Sprayer and Perspective Grid are the 3 that show their names. I am now using Illustrator 2023 and this is exactly the same issue as the 2022. Show Tool Tips is on. When turned OFF, these 3 do not pop up so at the very least this is something to take into consideration. Im dumbfounded as to what the issue may be.

Gregory, can you make a list of tools which don't have tooltips?
Does it change if you go to Preferences > General and disable Show Rich Tool Tips option? -

I am having the very same issue. And what is most interesting is that some of the tool names do show up whilst hovering, but the majority do not. I have been plagued with this issue for quite some time though never had this problem with older versions. I use 2022 Illustrator Desktop on an M1 Mac. I would imagine if this was a hardware or software error, then nothing would show up when hovering, but to see some and not others makes no sense. I've tried all the setting fixes; relaunched; uninstalled and reinstalled... the same issue. I certainly want to get better with recognizing each tool and other options but this issue has given me a lot of grief and has slowed down my progress significantly.

Liam, does not happen for me on Mac, I see all the tooltips on hover, with tools, swathes and Pantone swatches as well. I have to ask this – have you tried to to relaunch?
