Properties panel shows incorrect selection state
I'm using Illustrator version 27.1.1 on windows 10 64 bit.
When selecting and object, the Properties panel shows "no selection" and some crucial features (like the reflecting buttons) are missing. Sometimes it shows 'Rectangle' when something else is selected... Changing values in it does nothing.
I'm attaching a screenshot, where you can see that there is an object selected, but it doesn't appear as such in the Properties panel.

I'm experiencing this too. It seems to happen after a couple hours of use. The properties panel will start ignoring all new selections.
The only remedy is the close and re-open Illustrator. Reopening the document is not sufficient. I'm on Windows 10 64-bit.

The panels still show you properties even if nothing is selected. So you can tweak them all you want, just to notice you’re actually not modifying anything.
If nothing is selected they should be disabled
