Corrupted Mac screenshot exports when using Export for Screens
When exporting multiple artboards that feature Mac screenshots via Illustrator > File > Export for Screens, the exported screenshot data looks corrupted / distorted. However, using File > Save for Web (legacy) results in a clear export.

AJ, there is a separate large UV entry about resetting workspaces on update:

Check my logs. I installed Illustrator 2024 last week. Brand new, fresh version, which reset my workspace at the same time (Brilliant, thanks). Note: I had the same Issue with all previous installs of Illustrator.

I have no idea why all formats in Export for Screens have Text Optimized settings as a default option.
I can only guess the team A) had to pick something, and they compared the average output of both methods and chose the one that gives better results, or B) got mistaken, since Art Optimized is what Ai uses in every other place we can choose from these two.
Will try to learn more. -

Very interesting. Why isn't 'Art Optimized' the default? Text Optimized (hinted) seems to be broken.

AJ, please open Export for Screens dialog, then press the gear button to open the Format Settings dialog, make sure you have ONG selected in the left column, and check if you have Art Optimized selected for Anti-Aliasing. If it was Type Optimized, export a PNG once more and compare the results.

Hi, I've attached 2 identical artboards; 1 using Export for Screens, and 1 using Save for Web. I think the exports should be self explanatory! Thanks

It’s hard to compare images, when you provide only one image of two :)
Can you please share also the original one and the image you get using Save for Web?Also actually there is a larger report about the quality of the Export for Screens method, here:
https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/34636129-poor-quality-images-from-export-for-screens
and also this one as well:

Do you think this is the same problem? -
