Illustrator Freezes when Saving
I am running Illustrator v28.1 on Windows 11 Home - version 22H2 on my Asus Zenbook 15 (2019). I generally use a dock to connect to a single monitor.
Recently when I try to save, the program freezes and I cannot select anything within the program. When I click anywhere in Illustrator, I hear a chime like the program is expecting me to respond to a dialog box, but I cannot find the save window anywhere. It does not appear in windows tile view or when hovering over the illustrator icon in the task bar. I can 'save a copy' without issue, but something about the normal save window in illustrator is broken for me. I have tried this both on my laptop screen, unconnected from my monitor, as well as connected to my monitor. I have also tried changing the resolution of my screen to try to find it. Nothing seems to be working.
Currently my workaround is to save a copy, but if I accidentally "save as" or "save" my only option is to force quit and recover the document. This also means I cannot save different versions any of my cloud documents, so I am de facto unable to use cloud documents.

Hmm. So you say it happens if you connect nothing to the laptop, before you connect the second monitor?
Have you tried to Win+Tab to see a hidden dialog?
What does Task Manager show, if you expand the Illustrator’s task?
Can you restore the app’s window using a Win+↓ hotkey and move it sideways (you can try to use Alt+ Space to call the window’s menu and pick Move there).
