command N for new doesn't work
Illustrator 25.4.1
copy an item from a document
hit "command N" to make a new document
hit "return"
new document dialog goes away, but a new document is not made

Does it work if you don’t copy anything?
If yes — does it matter what you copy? a text, a vector art?
