Can’t drag an element to a different layer
All of a sudden i cant move an element from one layer to a different one. Only if i manually open the whole layer and drag exact element to a different one.
Saving - quitting - opening again - does not help

Oh the layers that pop up in your video are the ones i deleated to send you a clean file.
But about the issue - I have no idea what that hidden and locked element did to my file but when i unhid it and deleted it the problem disappeared and i can move elements freely again.
Really no clue why this bug solved itself -
You forgot to attach the linked WhatsApp Image 2025-08-29 at 16.26.49.jpeg, but I can confirm this happening, even with the proxy image.
It doesn’t help if the layer has anything else in it but image (this could have explained the behavior, in a sense)...But then I started to dig into the layer structure and it got so much stranger!
So I closed it and tried again. Take a look at the recording attached. Is it something you can repeat at your side? Any idea on what these are?
At the end, after clearing all the explosion that happens, I can move the image into the designated layer without expanding it... and with the surprise object being still locked and hidden. -

Sometimes it starts working again. Then again not

Please save a copy of this document, remove all other elements but this element, make sure the bug still happens, and share the document here with the image used, so the team can try to reproduce it.
Having a video with you trying to di it would be helpful as well. Can you recreate this problem in a new document, and/or with another image?
