Navigator is not navigating
Illustrator 30.2.1. Macbook
In the Navigator panel so I can see my artboard and all the items in it. But when my view is for example in the upper right corner, and I click on the lower left corner, because I want my view to pan over there, it only brings me a little bit more to the left. It seems like a big bug and the Navigator is now sort of useless. In previous Illustrator editions it was working perfectly.

Yes, it is a huge document that is maybe pushing Illustrator to its limit. I tried a couple other documents. Small documents with one or even multiple artboards, they work fine when the navigator window is the original small size.
Making the property window larger for my full canvas documents is a good enough solution for me, now that I know it will work when I do it that way.
Maybe the Adobe team can look into it to solve the bug.
Thanks for the support.

Thanks , Chris. That’s a huge document!, it takes almost full canvas. I suppose, all your other documents you tried are as large as this one? What about a smaller one, like A4? Do you notice it misbehaving, with a smaller amount of content?
I don’t say you need to divide the artwork, I just try to understand what causes it, to pinpoint the combination of things that need to happen. I’ll try to mimic the size of canvas you have meanwhile. -

Hi Egor, thank you for your quick reply.
- It happens with multiple documents
- the option 'view only artboard content' is not toggled on, so i see every object around it.
- I cannot open illustrator Beta because of an errorAfter your reply, I tried to enlarge the Navigator property window, and suddenly it works as how it should work. When I change it back to the original size. It does not work. (I never enlarge the window, so that is why I never discovered that)...
I added a video clip, where you can see what happens when you click in the navigator. And how it behaves after the enlargement.

Odd, can’t make it happen... at least based on your description only.
Chris, does it happen with a particular file only, or any document at all?
Can you share a small video that shows the behavior?
In the Navigator panel’s options, do you have View Artboard Contents Only enabled? Is there a difference if you toggle it?
Does Beta build behaves better? (it’s safe to install it together with the general build — the only downside is that the OS would assign it to all .al files as a default app)
