Extremely Sluggish after Using Edit Toolbar
Picking any tool from Edit Toolbar will bring Illustrator to a crawl. Popups become unresponsive for around 5 seconds. If I start Illustrator while holding down Shift Ctrl Alt, it works great - but only when I do so. If I don't, it's back to being slow. Running Illustrator as an Administrator also makes it run great.

I'm running Illustrator 2026, but I have the same issue on Illustrator 2025.
I don't use Illustrator often, so I don't know exactly when it happened. When I do use it, it's usually in a rush, so when this issue popped up it became a real problem and I had to work around Illustrator entirely.
First noticed the problem about a month ago, but only now have I been able to play around with it and figure out what triggers it and the work arounds I mentioned before.

So it means that some of the 1st party plugins cause this.
Can you share more specifics about your OS, hardware, Windows user account status, please?
Do you recall anything like this in prior builds of Ai? Which version are you on? How does Beta build behave? -

I don't have any plugins added to Illustrator.

Just to clarify — if you are using third-party plugins, what are these?
